Hi Renee. No, I’ve not had a chance yet. Crazy past couple of weeks. I might be able to get on it next week and I’ll let you know if I do.
Thanks –
TimHmmmm. I don’t remember if I updated the URLs first or did setup first.
However, the URLs were corrected before subsequent attempts, including clicking RESET, and uninstalling/reinstalling/setting up the plugin.
Yes I updated both URLs from http to https.
Already had 1.4, but I reset, deleted and reinstalled.
Still no joy – It tells me congratulations, then goes back to start its infinite loop again
Also – I just noticed a new thing in my Dashboard called Exact Metrics and it apparently can show reports and stuff but first I need to connect to it with its launch wizard (which I haven’t done yet).
Does this have something to do with Site Kit or why Site Kit isn’t working?
@jamesosborne ,
I have not been able to set up Site Kit previously
I just tried installing it on another site of mine on the same shared webhosting, but I could not activate it because of this fatal error:Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home1/fhupdate/public_html/wp-content/plugins/google-site-kit/google-site-kit.php on line 97
I don’t know of any Web Application Firewall or ModSecurity rules with my current hosting provider. I will check on that next.
I am unable to reset as the only screen that shows is the “Sign in with Google to Configure…” screen.
But I did open a new incognito window, deactivate, delete and reinstall.
Still no luck. Same problem as before – it keeps returning to the sign in with Google screen.
Edit: Actually I was able to click on reset. Didn’t see that at first, but it’s right there on the first screen. So, I did the entire incognito process again, just like above and still no luck.
Thanks-

I’m having the exact same issue. Just installed it yesterday. Kept going back to beginning after welcome. I let it rest and tried again today. Still not working.

In reply to: Changing URL (domain name) but staying in same place.I am marking this as Resolved.
I got impatient and went ahead and tried what was linked above at LiquidWeb.com, and it works.
So, in case anyone wants to know – it is relatively easy to change the URL or domain associated with a wordpress site that is hosted in a WHM/Cpanel environment on Hostgator.
First I logged into the WordPress dashboard and under “Setting>General…” I changed to the new (real) domain name. And I got the 404 error, but I was expecting that.
In WHM, I clicked on “Modify Account…” and changed the domain name for the account to the real domain.
Changing the domain in this way also renames the sql database and username, so in Cpanel, using File Manager, I edited the wp_config file to update the reference to the new db name and new db user name. Then I pointed the real domain to my hostgator account’s nameservers.
Once the domain propagated, I logged in to the WordPress dashboard and used the Better Search and Replace plugin to fix any references to the temporary domain.
No need to copy and move (download / upload) files.

In reply to: Change WP Domain name on "dormant" serverOK, yup, I’m back. So the old site has a new test domain now. And it works, it goes to the old site, but now I need to get in and tell WordPress that it needs to use the new test domain instead of the original – but when I try to log in, the login page loads (redirects itself?) to the new server. How do I get in and change things if I can’t get into the WordPress dashboard?
Thanks!

In reply to: [WP125] WP125 not shown after update to W4.3Same problem here, upgrade to 4.3 killed my ads. However, I was already using AdRotate for a different set of ads, so I just created a new Block and put all my WP125 ads into it, and it works great.

In reply to: Parament theme: multiple background colors? Is it possible to do this with a page template rather than a page ID? I would like to be able to make pages for my advertisers, and have different colors for them. Some red, some blue, etc…

In reply to: Move "Recent Activity" widget from Dashboard to "Add New Post" screenWow thank you for your detailed answer. This is way over my head so maybe I’ll just continue clicking back and forth between the 2.
Besides, I just noticed that they “Recent Activity” widget, seems to show no more than 5 scheduled posts, so unless there’s a way around that, it’s not really all that helpful anyway.
I appreciate your time and answer though – Thank you!!

In reply to: Color Reference Chart?Thank you for both clearing that up. I was typing “fff” into photoshop for example, and it would add zeros to make it “000fff” (or maybe it was “fff000” I don’t remember) but anyway, it certainly wasn’t the same color as “fff”
