  • I had required reg turned on when I first went up but I am keeping it among friends on my blog. I don’t advertise to google and I’m not trying to make money. Since one guy said he didn’t comment once because he didn’t feel like registering, I turned it off. I left a stern but kind warning that the first time I had to delete spam I would click it right back on.

    DP,

I’m pretty new to this whole thing, I barely have my own site running but am trying to be a part of the community. So I’m still coming at this from more of a nonuser standpoint as opposed to the technical talent of all the others.

I love the colors and style of your theme. It comes together really well. I have one thing, that is probably a personal preference. The vertical divisions of the site feel akward. I like the center section set forward of the outer part (nice 3-D feel). The issue I run into is the 60:40 split of the center two sections. It makes the page feel off balance to me, especially with the massive graphic to the left.
Since the graphic appears to be part of an entry, time could just shuffle it off the screen and remove the issue. Although, leaving the baby announcement in place during the pregnancy could be a nice touch. It might be worthwhile to remove it from the flow or thumbnail it to the side.
However you decide to go, it is a very nice site and I would be glad to have it as my baby announcement so I think they will be as well.

Thank you very much, I confess, I only browsed on WordPress.org and did not make full use of the interwebs.

I appreciate the response although I do have one simple question, just for a learning point for me.

What were to google search terms you used?

    Thanks again.

Sorry, trying to search in the wrong field before I post.
Either way, I couldn’t find what I was looking for.

Whenever I DL a theme, I get a missing style sheet error on my theme viewer. I can look at the files and style.css is clearly there.

I’m sure this is a no brainer but please point me in the right direction. Should I be pulling that file and storing it in another folder?

Thanks to the folks at install4free for taking care of me on this.

Got it installed. Still running into issues posting but at least it is in . Thanks to all who tried to help. It was, in fact, that I was not pointed at the right server.

So, I did as suggested and got the exact same result. I’m not entirly sure what moving the files around was going to accomplish. I see the cleaned up URL which is great.

    further thoughts?

Sorry I haven’t gotten back as quickly as I said I would. I am working on this. I have not had a chance to work from my home station over my FTP software. I will try to get this done soon.

I did try opening the install file you listed above in its current file path and got a page not found error.

Is that what you would expect?

Thanks, I will attempt to do that this eve when I am actually at my home machine and will respond with the results. I appreciate your help.

I have the orginal zip folder in the following file path
    home/Blog/WordPress
when I unpacked that file, I unpacked it into the same file path. So the readme.html file and the wp-config.php file and all the rest are in the following file path:
    home/Blog/WordPress/Wordpress/(files are here)

I hope that answered what you were looking for. I’ll spend some time this afternoon reviewing the instructions for obvious misses and will definitly check back here.
