Hey Chris – that seems to have done the trick! The articles are loading certainly, I guess I just need to wait to see if Google are happy with it, But thanks for all your help, hope sorting my problem out will also fix issues for others.

Thanks Chris, any suggestions welcomed! FYI, I tried turning off all plugins (including Bad Behaviour, another bot blocker) and running the GN scan for articles again, but no change I’m afraid.
Answering these in reverse order Chris – here’s what may be useful error log info from debug.log. There’s 22 or so of these sections, possibly coinciding with every time I tried to refresh the articles in GN…

However, I’ve got at least one Bad Bots-style plugin installed, no idea if it’d be blocking it but since you mentioned that I’ll look and see if that seems possible as well.
Edit: disabled Stop Bad Bots but no difference made

However, I *think* I may have another problem where it copies across the ‘Private’ status and the original publication date. There’s no similar way I can see to stop these coming across via the checkboxes. In reply to: [Yoast Duplicate Post] Bug when cloning on the original permalinkI also had this problem – I have 2 sites, one is WP 4.9.4, plugin version 3.2.1 – the latest versions and am finding that when I save a draft from a template created with the Duplicate Post plugin it doesn’t change the title.
The other site is still running WP v4.7.9 and plugin v 3.1.2 and is operating fine as it always has. So I’m not sure if it’s really WP or the plugin that is causing the problem but looks like the 2 most recent versions aren’t compatible, so hopefully this info will help.
Thanks – the odd thing is that I’ve set every colour in every part of the Settings section to be black or white – there’s nothing set to any shade of gray – but still the username etc display in this dark-ish shade. So I figured it must be hard-coded somewhere and was looking for whatever advice there was on amending a stylesheet or a line in one of the php files.
not from me or I would have used it! I’m no expert anyway, I suppose looking at the older plugins first, that would be most likely to fail. Or the ones you don’t need quite so much or could replace easily with something similar. Or any that look like they’d use jQuery or whatever it is that drives the menu popup.
Meant to get back as I sorted this a few days ago by the tried and tested method of disabling every plugin in sequence (!) – it turned out that by taking out the Last.fm covers plugin it resolved itself and my menus are ok on the mobile now (I do find it sometimes tries to load the web version occasionally for some reason though).
Guessing this is a bit of a long shot for you, but it could be a conflict with something else. I find that disabling the first 15 of my 30 plugins, then the second half, is the way to go (then, the first quarter, 7 or so; then the second 7… and so on…)

unfortunately that didn’t make any difference – cleared the cache data but the menu still doesn’t work. Must be one of these darn plugins – but which one…?

In reply to: Widgets dashboard not working in 2.9.2The same thing happened to me and I’ve tried the hints above. I don’t even have any plugins to delete! I thought it could be my theme (a Wootheme) but have switched back to Kubrik and the problem is the same – no drag and drop of widgets, and the Screen Options dropdown doesn’t, er, drop down.

In reply to: Slow Database, Slow WP – Help?have been trawling the web and came across this post and wondered if anyone else had seen similar problems. Sounding much the same as the one above, except I don’t have the google sitemap plugin to upgrade!
Either saving or publishing a post takes a couple of minutes, which is pretty hopeless. Deleting posts (or, more than one at a time, as above) actually generates 500 errors, caused I think by timing out (unfortunately my web provider isn’t the most technically adept – see if you can guess who!)
There’s another weird thing, the save and publish buttons ‘flash’ maybe halfway through the process. It might be the autosave thing. (This adds to the complication as it means I have hundreds of drafts that I can’t delete, plus as I use custom fields I have that 2.5 bug to contend with too!)Anyway, I digress – any bright ideas? Anyone?
