Hey bdp, most of the delay is caused by javascript as pointed out by Marius.
You need to defer all this javascript to get faster initial load time.
This can be done with plugins for “Lazy Loading”

This seems to be a common problem but it is surely related to google plus and not wordpress. I think, you can find help at the productforums of google.

A simple thing would be to check sites that use the same ads as you run, then check their privacy policy and write similar to that page. Privacy policy is not too big.

therefore, it is useful to use powerful plugins to protect your site from getting hacked. Although I know, they are not fool proof, but still they save from numerous such foul attempts.

Does it happen in all browsers , like FF, Chrome, IE 9 etc . if it happens in just one, then it is a browser problem and you should update your browser.
