It’s not the theme. Tried 2017. Same problem.
Hosting company says it’s the .htaccess and the whitelisting for the WP login. They removed those rules and I removed whitelisting for the WP login but it still happens.
What’s weird is this is on an interior site page, not the WP login. When it fails though the URL changes to wp-login.php?action=postpass.
No, no membership plugin. It is WordPress’ default option or built into the theme.
I do use that feature but it is set to 240 minutes.
I have noticed it seems to flare up if I am accessing a password protected page on my site. Seems like that triggers the logout. Is that possible?
Rename login page. That looks like an issue. If I uncheck that and use the default page the login works fine. I’d like to keep using that feature if possible.

In reply to: [Media Library Folders] Update Failed: Plugin update failed.Seems only once I upgraded to WordPress 4.8.1 from 4.8 the plugin update installed ok. This might be helpful to someone else in the same situation.
I named the AIOWPS folder back to original and restored .htaccess
Decided I would look into the database but when I tried to login to the client’s hosting cpanel I got this error…
“Sorry for the inconvenience! The filesystem mounted at / on this server is running out of disk space. cPanel operations have been temporarily suspended to prevent something bad from happening. Please ask your system admin to remove any files not in use on that partition.”
The host “restarted http” which I guess means rebooted the server and the login started working again with no issue.
So can “not available” happen with a server error even though the public (non-cached) site be working? That would be good to know for future reference.
Thanks.

In reply to: [All-in-One WP Migration and Backup] Some Links Don’t WorkI believe the hosting company was able to run some find/replace in the database and correct all the link issues. Thanks.
Cool Thanks.
Login problems are back.
Now on the first login attempt after it processes it says cookies aren’t enabled. If I hit refresh without typing in the username and password again it logs me in. Very odd. Back to square one.
Never solved. All I could do get back in was
1. rename the AIOWPS plugin folder
2. reupload a backup of wp-config
3. delete the .htaccess and re-ran permalinks to create a new .htaccess because the backup of .htaccess would not work correctly. The old backup of .htaccess made all the urls resolve as
ip#/directoryname/directoryname/directoryname/directoryname/directoryname/directoryname/directoryname etc. until it errorred out.Once back in the WP admin I dialed back on a lot of the AIOWPS settings to make the plugin less aggressive.
As far as the PHP version I was stumped. The calendar plugin had been working fine. I had to go to the host and update the PHP version manually. Then the calendar started working again.
So no idea, but something with settings in AIOWPS triggered a massive conflict.
I got back in but now one plugin (Simple Calendar) stopped working and says “Required PHP version: 5.3.3 – Version found: 5.2.17”
My host is running 5.4. Is there anything in AIOWPS that would have affected this?
It was working before. Thanks.
Interesting update.
I went back into my Firefox stored passwords and noticed I had 2, maybe 3 entries for my site. They all had the same username, same password. I can verify that because the “last used date” was the same for each instance. When I removed all of them and stored only one instance I am now not experiencing any login issues. Odd. Not sure if that could be related.
Will report back if this changes.
Thanks. I can wait for the official release probably.
The other message I’m getting today after the first login attempt fails is:
ERROR: Invalid login credentials.
OK, got locked out again despite whitelisting my IP and disabling caching plugin.
Here is the message:
ERROR: Access from your IP address has been blocked for security reasons. Please contact the administrator.
