There is no simple way to achieve what you want in my opinion. I also wonder if what you intend to do will save time or just lead to fragility, inconsistency and thus be time-consuming. How will tracjbacks be handled or re-directed? How will rewrite rules be built to accommodate to the complexity? WordPress MU, I believe will not offer any practical solution either.

In reply to: Design ManualsDo you ask this as a user or a designer? The changes to the public side of WordPress were really small, so older themes should often work. Design is merely the same (apart from the administration panel, of course).

Try to rewrite your rules. Let WordPress do it for you. Try variations with caution because you don’t want to break inbound links or confuse the crawlers and search engines.

It its possible that cookies are unintentionally forbidden for that site (at browser-level) or that there are multiple cookies… one for each version of WordPress (a guess), so no autocomplete can be determined?

Also disable all plug-ins and enable them one at a time to see if any of them causes a problem.

Embed them near some text which is either justified (the better choice in my opinion) or is simply indented to the left. If you like what the site that you mention above does, view source and replicate the bits you like (markup, not text).

you may have a theme issue. Change the theme (and disable all plug-ins while you are at it) to see if this rectifies things…

In reply to: trackback broken in rc3 ?This sounds like it could be a bug. It was recently raised in the mailing-lists that pings should be spawned whenever a post has a ‘published’ status, so more can be added once the item has been published already. I don’t know if it wasn’t tested properly, but the behaviour you describe might suggest that. This was working fine in WordPress 1.2 and 1.5.

I am not too familiar with the statements that are generated by FrontPage, but it doesn’t appear to do much apart from defining the default paths, in case you use FrontPage to generate static pages for your site. Did you enable FrontPage extensions? If so, was this necessary and intentional?
