Your links suggest that the domain is up for sale. Could be helpful if you posted the correct domain. I would imagine though that you would set up the category/page as you have done to set up http://www.somesite.com/blog
Also a further suggestion is to search the plugins and install a plugin from Yoast called WordPress SEO News. This helps Google find your “News” posts..
