In reply to: How to move the items in the sidebar more to the left?most of the layout control is in the file = style.css
hopefully your theme creator clearly calls out what areas the code points to in the css styling.

In reply to: Comment author not foundOK, in addition to trying to fix 1) & 2) just noticed that RECENT POSTS do not appear in the sidebar either. In summary, two default sidebar widgets, RECENT POSTS and RECENT COMMENTS are buggy.
I also did a complete reinstall. of v2.5.1

In reply to: Comment author not foundOK, IP2 fixed!
Back to why isn’t recent comments working correctly. I have two sites running with same theme, database. The only difference, one is v2.5 the other is 2.1.1. The v2.5 recent comments still broken. I have deactivated plugins, switched themes. In some themes the recent comments do not even show up. They show up on my site but continue to say NOT FOUND following an author name.

http://www.petmonologues.com/pet022207/wp-content/plugins/easy-ip2country/flags/us.png
the flag directory has always been up there.
ALSO
look at the CURRENT COMMENTS and see the NOT FOUND stuff = there is a problem…

not sure what your path to ip2 means either at this point. what are you supposed to see following this path?…

In reply to: Comment author not foundhaochi,
most definitely added the flags folder. the only difference is the original site (v2.1.1) had v0.9 IP2 plug and new site (v2.5.1) has v0.91beta installed. the plugin has several folders (as you seem to know) = flags, ip2c, temp, and the php file.

In reply to: [Plugin: Top Commentators Widget] WordPress 2.5 Errorwell, i went back into the options menu and it was back to default mode so i again typed in the title = title appeared.
then i added 10 commentators – the field was blank – and now the commentators i did have after the install now displays = no commentators
i also changed the default one month recycle to one hour and maybe commentors will appear in an hour?

In reply to: [Plugin: Top Commentators Widget] WordPress 2.5 Errori have installed the hacked version ( thank you! ) of this plugin and have two questions…
1) it does not show my top/any commentors prior to the install, just the ones after the install.
2) also, the title does not appear
same one. is there one? π
yep, you’re right. i am a dull sharp knife and my brain only gets in the way when it comes to this.

In reply to: [Plugin: Simple Tags] Importing tags from Simple Taggingi have found out what the php.ini file is. i found a lot of info by googling and then asking my isp. i have WHM access and simply reconfigured the php via the php configuration editor. the line stating ” max_execution_time ” was set to 30 (that’s seconds) and i changed it to 60. after the import i reset back to 30. if my file was larger i might have set it to 120 then reset to 30.
very easy after the hour or two of research.
whoo, no offense but you can talk yoda-like… anyway, a little more registration write up would indeed be beneficial and appreciated.
back to the htaccess barrier == is it effective to include some of this code to limit bot entries to just jpgs, pngs, and not executable codes, etc.? here are tips – any opines on some of these tips?
