In reply to: [BruteProtect] Confused – Installed now what?Hello,
So no further action is required to get BruteProtect working.
I should mention that BruteProtect can not stop people from attempting to brute force your website. During a brute force attack, your server will likely become very slow, and BruteProtect is not the right tool to speed up your site.
A brute force attack is only successful if it results in the attacker gaining the username and password to your website. BruteProtect will stop them from getting that information, but it cannot stop them from trying to get it.
If your site is experiencing large amounts of attempts, you should talk to your server administrator or hosting provider to see if there are other tools that could help you.

In reply to: [BruteProtect] menuHello,
I assume you are talking about the BruteProtect menu item in the WordPress dashboard.
Unfortunately, that can not be moved to a submenu.
Thanks,

In reply to: [BruteProtect] API not generatedHello,
Can you post a screen shot of what your are seeing on the BruteProtect config page. You can’t put screen shots in the reply, but you could use a service like CloudUp.com and post a link.
Thanks.

In reply to: [BruteProtect] Question about uptime monitoringIn version 2.3.1 we decided to output that string even if you’ve opted out of remote monitoring. We did this to solve some cases where folks who opted out continued to get downtime notifications.
In an upcoming version, we will be removing the output altogether.
Thanks

Could you provide some more info on how BruteProtect messed up your site? How did you end up resolving? Thanks

In reply to: [BruteProtect] Average AttacksHello Richard,
The average blocked attacks for non-multisite networks in our records is 4,132. You are well below that, so I wouldn’t be alarmed.
You can always check with your hosting provider or server admin to get a better look at vulnerabilities, and see if there is a lot of suspicious activity beyond what we report.
Thanks.
Yes, that is what our newest version should look like.
If you were able to get an API key, then BruteProtect is working!
Thanks.

In reply to: [BruteProtect] Why does plugin need modernizr and foundation js?We use foundation and modernizr to make our configuration page look nice on different screen sizes. We only load them on our configuration page so we don’t bog down the rest of the WordPress dashboard.
The pricing slider is a leftover from a previous version. Thanks for catching that. We’ll remove it in a future release as we no longer need it.

In reply to: [BruteProtect] Discontinued?Hello folks,
To clarify, the management services on my.bruteprotect.com, such as plugin updating, will be discontinued in February.
For the next year, BruteProtect will remain a stanalone plugin offering brute force protection.
Beyond that, we are not sure. We are still in planning stages.
Thanks

In reply to: [BruteProtect] BruteProtect Dashboard not availableThanks for your reports. We are no longer supporting the services on MyBruteProtect.com as we are focusing on implementing and improving these features on the Jetpack plugin. Check out what’s new in Jetpack 3.3
Fear not, BruteProtect will still continue to protect your site from brute force attacks as BruteProtect Shield does not require a connection to MyBruteProtect.com. But as of Dec 23 2014, no new sites will be connected to MyBruteProtect.com. And as of Feb 2015, we will be closing MyBruteProtect.com all together.
Thanks for using My.BruteProtect
swatson, the Application Error screen has been happening lately due to server load. we are working on fixing it so that our servers continue to function optimally until we close the services.

In reply to: [BruteProtect] BruteProtect Install and SetupGo ahead an install it on the temporary URL.
When you change URLs, you can click the ‘Remove API Key’ button on the BruteProtect configuration page, and then you’ll be prompted to get a new API key.
