In reply to: [BruteProtect] My BruteProtect Dashboard not availableJamil,
Thanks for the report. It looks like when our API tries to connect to your site, we get
Curl Error 35: Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s).Could you talk to your hosting provider / server administrator and see if they know why incoming CURL requests would result in that error?
Thanks, and sorry for the frustration.
I’m currently working on better error handling, so anyone who is experiencing a connection error, you’ll see a more meaningful message.
Thanks for your patience everyone.

In reply to: [BruteProtect] BruteProtect and CloudflareSo when our API tries to contact your site, we get this:
Curl Error: 35 Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s).
I’ll do some digging to see if I can get any more information.
Could you run that error by your hosting provider / server admin and see if they can provide any insight? Thanks.

In reply to: [BruteProtect] BruteProtect and CloudflareHello Rick,
Let’s try to analyze the debug report. Click on the debug link at the bottom of the BruteProtect configuration page in your dashboard, and send the report on over.
What’s your URL? I’ll be looking out for the report.
Thanks

In reply to: [BruteProtect] API KeyI’ve reviewed the debug report, and it appears your site is having trouble connecting to our API.
SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details:
error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failedCan you run that error message by your hosting provider / server administrator, and see if they have any insight why curl requests to your site would cause this error.
Let me know what you find.
Thanks, and sorry for any inconvenience.

In reply to: [BruteProtect] API KeyHello,
Getting an API key should be instantaneous. If you did not get one, perhaps your site is having trouble connecting to our API.
What is your site’s address?
What do you see on the BruteProtect configuration page in your WordPress dashboard? If possible, click the debug link at the bottom of the configuration page, and click the “Send Report..” button.
Let me know when you send it.
Thanks!

In reply to: [BruteProtect] WP Theme Page TemplatesLuis,
I’m pretty sure BruteProtect is not the culprit. One way we can be sure is to deactivate BruteProtect, and see if the issue goes away.
Let me know what you find. If it is BruteProtect, we’ll see what we can do to fix it. Otherwise, you can keep deactivating your plugins until you find one that is causing the display issue.
Thanks for the report.

I have seen that error in the past, and updating to the latest version of OpenSSL usually fixes it.

In reply to: [BruteProtect] Increase in Site Down (False) Email Notifications After UpdateThanks for your help, and patience sir.
So koomohost is outputting our check string:
<span id="bruteprotect_uptime_check_string" style="display:none;">7ads6x98y</span>It should be behaving properly as far as I can tell. You may have received a SITE UP email. Let me know if you keep getting emails from that site.
Webshoo, however, is not outputting the check string, which leads me to believe that the template file that is handling your home page does not make a call to
wp_footer()Our check string is hooked into
wp_footeraction. Can you verify for me please, that your template useswp_footer?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [BruteProtect] Increase in Site Down (False) Email Notifications After UpdateCould you pick one or two of those sites, and turn Uptime monitoring back on. I’d like to run a few tests. 🙂 thanks

In reply to: [BruteProtect] Getting False "Down" messageThanks for your reports, folks. We found the issue and we have pushed 2.3.1 to fix it.
What happened was that sites that weren’t redirected to the bruteprotect-config page after updating to 2.3 ( ie, sites that were autoupdated, or updated through my.bruteprotect ), didn’t get the new configuration data. Our output of the check string depended on the new data, so those sites didn’t get a check string, and thus, appeared to be down.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
