Just uploaded 2.5.1 again and it still shows as 2.5 at the footer!

    Rosie,

Nope. No change. I did the plugins bit and the upgrade and I still cannot see images in the blog even in preview mode. Nor can I navigate from Manage to Dashboard.

Here is the code I get when navigating back to Dashboard:
Warning: main(./wp-blog-header.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/iscatte/public_html/wp-content/plugins/index.php on line 4

Warning: main(./wp-blog-header.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/iscatte/public_html/wp-content/plugins/index.php on line 4

Warning: main(./wp-blog-header.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/iscatte/public_html/wp-content/plugins/index.php on line 4

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘./wp-blog-header.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/php4/lib/php:/usr/local/php4/lib/php’) in /home/iscatte/public_html/wp-content/plugins/index.php on line 4

I cannot make sense of it.

    You?

    Regards

    RB

    Rosie,

    Many thanks for reasponding.

I did this exercise already to no avail. But will do it again.

I do hope it works this time round.

    Rosie,

since upgrading to v2.5, I have not been able to delete posts. On pressing the submit button I get: HTTP 500 Internal Server Error!

    Why?

How can I get full functionality back?

    Above should read 2.3 upgrade

@20something – nope! I tried this. It still gives me the 500 birdie!I had this with the 2.4 upgrade but the solution then does not work with 2.5

I am stumped. Feel like reloading 2.3.

    emaciek

Don’t leave me in the lurch – what index.php must I change and change it to what permissions? 777?

Well while all are jumping in I’ll settle down with a beer and popcorn and wait for a result…!! Heehee

I cannot delete my posts. Unlike previus versions, 2.3.3 is missing the DELETE function in Manage/Posts

Only way to delete a post is therefore to go into Edit & scroll down to bottom of post and hit the Delete this draftbutton.

But this only gets me a notification out of post.php:

You are not allowed to delete this post.

So how do I delete posts? And why can’t I? And before I get dumped on, I have read this thread and none of it explains why I cannot delete a thread.

And I cannot go back to Dashboard from Manage or any of the other function in the Dashboard menu.

    I get this error:

Warning: main() [function.main]: Unable to access ./wp-blog-header.php in /home2/iscatte/public_html/wp-content/plugins/index.php on line 4

Warning: main(./wp-blog-header.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home2/iscatte/public_html/wp-content/plugins/index.php on line 4

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘./wp-blog-header.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/php4/lib/php’) in /home2/iscatte/public_html/wp-content/plugins/index.php on line 4

Is there perhaps some stuff missing in the 2.3.3 upgrade?

    In reply to: php.ini question

I have tried all ther above plus different versions like .htaccess containing increase to memory while creating a brand new php.ini file with your one-liner code in it and placing it in WP-admin and then to public_html etc etc etc

Nothing corrects the error. I also renamed the plugins directory to see if this was the root cause of the memory overload, but nothing was corrected.

So I am still denied access to my site. Even trying mydomin.com/wp-admin/index.php does not work. I really am locked out.

    Here is the error message:
    =======================
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@iscatterlings.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    ======================

    Can you help?

OK I deleted the offending plugins and all is well. Except for some lost pics on posts.

    Thanks

    R

Below is the error message I am getting too:

Sun Dec 30 12:12:51 2007] [error] [client 85.xxx.xx.1xx] Premature end of script headers: /home2/xxxxx/public_html/xxxxxxxxxp/index.php

Has anyone got any idea how to resolve this?

    Ivovic,

Quit with the sarcasm and patronising of us WP users.

We make or break the product and Aquila deserved a better reply than the one you provided.

If the updates are only language based then simply pin a notew to the updates that allow the appropriate languaged users who want that specific language to download the particular update.

If it is a functionality update – say so then all users know they better download

This is a great product marred only by the replies we receive when we need support and a minor fix to filter updates to appropriate users.

I have encountered the same repeated incoming links problem as you guys. Technorati is not at all good on support. They shoot out stock responses to keep us quiet.

As far as I see it, the problem we have is a Technorati issue.

But I recall a post related to a plugin (not necessarily here at WordPress) that stated the upload and activation of the plugin, (cannot recall what it was) causes hassles with dashboard.

I have since been trying to backtrack to that particular post. When I find it I will link to it from here for you guys to see firsthand. Hopefully it will be the answer but I doubt it.

    Nothing ventured nothing gained!

I’d like this as well. So anyone?

In reply to: Renaming the Text Widgets?

I cannot believe that the question has not been successfully answered.

I have changed the titles of widgets to what I want by clicking on the rightside icon in the widget admin and renaming iit in the dialogue box that appears.

However their is a widget I cannot change the title to – Links. It has no facility to do so and ask if their is a way to do it? Only for the Links widget.
