In reply to: Identical Child ThemesThanks. I am really new at this.
Where would I type !important?
I’m not familiar enough with selectors, to find one in my parent theme.

In reply to: Identical Child ThemesThe way I am checking is by setting a background color. Zoropage.com is the one that does not respond to the background color change.
Here’s the css that is working:
/*
Theme name: Twentyeleven Child
Description: Child theme for the twenty eleven theme
Author: Rob Newton
Template: twentyeleven
*/@import url(“../twentyeleven/style.css”);
body{
background:#333;
}Here’s the one that doesn’t work:
/*
Theme name: Twentyeleven Child
Description: Child theme for the twenty eleven theme
Author: Rob Newton
Template: twentyeleven
*/@import url(“../twentyeleven/style.css”);
body{
background:#333;

In reply to: Child Theme Won't ShowIt’s fixed:
Lessons learned
1. The child theme folder goes into the general theme folder – not the specific folder for theme you are working on. And remember to scroll down when looking for child themes. The pictures are not on them so they are easily over looked.Thanks

In reply to: Down loading a widget and installing a widgetThanks, Mod. I got it.
Just about drove me crazy though. A statement in the codex directions Like:
“Download widgets through the plugin page” would have been helpful.I guess I need to understand that widgets are plugins????????
Thanks again,

In reply to: Posting Spider Calendar to a PageThanks again. One last question. When I create a new page and post the code to it, the calendar shows up when I click view the page, but the new page and calendar don’t show up on my web page even after I refresh.

In reply to: Posting Spider Calendar to a PageThanks! I created a page and copied and pasted the code into the text box. It did post a calendar onto the page. It’s solid black, but I’ll work on that. Do all plugins have their own way of getting to a page? Is there a standard procedure?

In reply to: Posting Spider Calendar to a PageI am on step 5 but I have the free version that I loaded off of wordpress, it that matters. It’s on my installed plugin page and activated it also says it’s published, but I don’t know how to post it to a page. It’s not visible on any of my pages. I’m new at this. Is there a standard way of putting a plugin on a given page?

In reply to: Rundown Theme – Small Biz PanelThanks for responding. I am new to this, so when I delete a theme not all of it goes away?

In reply to: Newbee SectionWhen I posted on the How to… I think my question went under the heads of other forum users therefore, no help on my ?. Kind of like being on a plumbers’ forum and asking where’s the drain located. Plus I got my posts closed because I posted in the wrong place. Posted again got closed for multiple posts. Maybe a newbee forum would be more tolerant.
