Support » Fixing WordPress » Posting Spider Calendar to a Page

  • Hi, and thanks in advance for any help that can be offered. I down loaded a calendar plugin, Spider Calendar, and there seems to be no way to post it to a page.

Note: This is not a business site. I’m just using this domain name to learn wordpress.

  • Did you get to step 4 or 5 in the installation guide?

I am on step 5 but I have the free version that I loaded off of wordpress, it that matters. It’s on my installed plugin page and activated it also says it’s published, but I don’t know how to post it to a page. It’s not visible on any of my pages. I’m new at this. Is there a standard way of putting a plugin on a given page?

Not sure what to tell you. Step 5 tells you.

Create a page and paste that shortcode in there. Did you do that?

Thanks! I created a page and copied and pasted the code into the text box. It did post a calendar onto the page. It’s solid black, but I’ll work on that. Do all plugins have their own way of getting to a page? Is there a standard procedure?

Most calendar ones do. You need to be able to tell it what PAGE you want it to display on so either plugins have you enter or shortcode or some have options where you just select the page.

Thanks again. One last question. When I create a new page and post the code to it, the calendar shows up when I click view the page, but the new page and calendar don’t show up on my web page even after I refresh.

I have installed the full version of Spider Calendar as the default version WP was not comprehensive enough. Neither version display the calendar on the page. The short code has been inserted on the page. I have also tried it using a widget. In both cases I can select the created calendar and theme.
