In reply to: Links widget not showingI am having almost the same problem. I added a link to my blogroll today and noted that is the only link showing, even though I have always had twenty-plus links in the blogroll, and they all still show up in the back end, exactly as they always have. I do not know when they disappeared, as I seldom scroll down that far on the page.

In reply to: 2.3 reinstall after MySQL crash I can read it, but nobody else canThe error logs show a series of “file does not exist” errors in the root public directory. And it shows a series of “memory exhausted” errors. The last error was four hours ago.
I’ll check out a Google Analytics update too.
Thanks! 😉

In reply to: 2.3 reinstall after MySQL crash I can read it, but nobody else canI started adding plugins, went back to Wucoco three column, and everything worked until I added Google Analytics. I switched it in and out. It is the culprit. I will keep adding and testing until I get everything back and working. I’ll post my final result here.

In reply to: Blank Page Loading Error.I have tried various themes with various degrees of success, but the cannot deliver a new page without a 404 error; yet, I can access all the posts through “Manage” in the Admin Dashboard. So I am reluctant to replace the Database with an older file. I deleted then rewrote the config.php file, in an attempt to fix booting, but that has created this message for every activity:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/riverwri/public_html/wordcurrents/wp-includes/classes.php on line 92
Should I scrub everything and install from scratch and return to the old database or continue tinkering?
I’m sorry, I seem to have taken over this thread. Should I start a new one on this?

In reply to: Blank Page Loading Error. From what I can tell, my database is screwed, but my records do not go back to my last database backup, September 28. I think I have to erase the current database, and restore to that date, then re-enter my daily entries from my printouts. (Sheeeee-it!) I guess I’m going to have to back up more often.

In reply to: Blank Page Loading Error.I don’t know if my error is the same as yours: I havebeen using wucoco three column for some time, and upgraded successfully to WP 2.3, which I have used until a few days ago, when I started losing hits, and found out from a user that she is getting a blank page (just the black background) when she searches. Now nobody can enter my blog (but my main site is available). I have tried loading another theme, and the same thing happens. I can access wp-admin/index.php without a problem, but cannot load my blog pages unless I enter them from admin. I have reloaded the theme and all of 2.3, but still have the same error.
Any suggestions? I am dead in the water.

In reply to: Comment posting error messageI disabled a plugin I was running: “Subscribe to Comments 2.0.2”, and that stopped the problem. I suspect it needs an update??

In reply to: How can I get my local blog to show up in Google? Thanks for some excellent tips. I have followed up on all of them, and will exercise patience one of the virtues I have a lot of, except it is fairly short! (Does that make it fat?)

In reply to: Looking for self-updating alphabetical list of postsI note that there is a certain variation in the number of poetry lines coming up. I wonder that may have something to do with the form of the line breaks I am using; or it might be related to the “more” code I placed in the more recent articles. I have the number of prose words set to 15 and the number of lines of poetry set to 3, in the version being used on the site at present. It still looks pretty good the way it is. 😉

In reply to: Looking for self-updating alphabetical list of postsWow!
Aside from the second entry “Guess who?” (the Star Trek survey results), which looks a little extended, the rest looks very much the way I envisioned in my original “outrageous” request. I think I will tinker with the prose word length a bit, and that’s it.
Excellent. Brilliant as the Brits say.
Thank you.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Looking for self-updating alphabetical list of postsFortunately, I have kept every revision with a slightly different filename. What we have posted now is the result of posting with a blank Array. It serves the purpose. We can tweak this until the cows come home, and I certainly appreciate all the work you are putting into this, but surely you have a life and I am starting to feel as if I am condemning you to push this giant rock uphill eternally . . . 😉
BTW: I really like the addition of the elipses and the curly quotes.

In reply to: Looking for self-updating alphabetical list of posts and the result is:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: n12br() in /home/riverwri/public_html/wordcurrents/wp-content/plugins/dd-sitemap-gen5.php on line 671ulp! 😉
I’ll change that line back and see what it looks like with the Array empty.
