In reply to: plugin works on simple trial blog, not on working blogThank you for your patience. I read that file several times when I was trying to fix this, but did not notice the tabs. It works now. I have to become more methodical.

In reply to: plugin works on simple trial blog, not on working blogSounds useful. How do I do that?
Forum: Alpha/Beta/RC
In reply to: ‘Bug’ in 2.7 RC 1I had to go back to 2.6.5. I was running 2.7 RC1, and while I could access my database from my admin panel, all user links came up with a 404 File not found message. I restored backups several days, unistalled all my plugins, but ultimately, my only recourse finally was to have my ISP refresh me back four days to my 2.6.5 installation. That is working.

I don’t find it in the root of the old theme.

In reply to: Viewscreens: do we need a variable theme?Thank you, demitris; that is very comprehensive. You have given me a lot to consider, and a direction to pursue.

In reply to: Viewscreens: do we need a variable theme? That is really neat. Thanks.
Now all I need is a way to use both themes at once. I suppose I could run one as a subdomain, but that means posting everything twice. I could post a link to give the reader a choice of themes. Is it possible to have one theme post automatically from another’s database?

In reply to: Media Gallery errors in WP 2.5I am still having problems with it in 2.5.1, using Facebook 2.0.0.14
I get an “HTTP Error” message when the upload stops before finishing. I then have the option to discard the upload bar. The discard process works.

When I try to upload images, I repeatedly get this error message: “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.” Above the box, I have another error message: “HTML error”

In reply to: Can access admin, but error message locks me outYeah. I didn’t get that I was to follow it for a fix; I thought you were giving me the link to install it if I didn’t have it.
The question about the database remains though.

In reply to: Can access admin, but error message locks me outThe Bad Behaviour 2.0.11 upgrade fixed it. Thanks.
Does Bad Behaviour set up its own “invisible” database screen? I found one called “information schema” that my ISP could not detect, and it does not show up in the count of databases in cpanel.

In reply to: Can access admin, but error message locks me outI have since discovered that a new database has been inserted on my server above my two legitimate databases, and I believe this database, which I have not been able to remove, has defined my ISP IP as a malicious address, thereby preventing me from using my admin features because I cannot now access my databases. I am working to have my ISP remove the database. In the interim, I have changed to directory of my blog and put up a message in its place.

In reply to: Links widget not showingI have solved my problem. I discovered that somewhere in the mix all my category definitions for my blog links disappeared. All I had to do was go in an re-select the category for each item, and all the blogroll links reappeared in my blog. I think this was an error created by the database destruction and restoration I went through prior to that.
