Your feedback is crucial in helping us achieve a smoother and more user-friendly experience, and we remain committed to continuous improvements.
We’d like to clarify and provide solutions to the issues you’ve mentioned:
- Users can’t create or edit listings – This functionality has been tested extensively and should work as expected. If you’re still facing issues, please submit a support ticket with specific details so we can investigate further.

We’re genuinely sorry to hear that you’ve encountered so many issues, and we completely understand your frustration. Your feedback is important to us, and we’re working hard to improve the product. Please note that Version 8 was a significant update focused on enhancing the overall functionality and performance of the product. While it initially led to some layout and functionality issues, these changes are intended to provide long-term improvements. We are actively working on stabilizing the plugin, and it is now in a better position than before. Your feedback plays a vital role in helping us achieve our goals, and we remain committed to delivering a more reliable and user-friendly product moving forward.Regarding the issues you mentioned:
- Users can’t create or change their listings: We have thoroughly tested this on our end and confirmed it should be working correctly. If you continue experiencing this, please create a support ticket with more details, and we’ll investigate further.
- Descriptions within each listing do not display anymore: This issue does not appear on our tests. It could be due to a configuration issue on your end. Please feel free to reach out with more specifics via support, and we’ll assist you right away.
- Expiry dates of listings are wrong and can’t be changed: We’ve identified the issue, and it’s related to pricing plans. A fix will be released tomorrow, which should resolve this problem.
- Automatic renewal emails are not working: We are addressing this in an upcoming update, which will be released soon.
- Filter search not working with apostrophes: This is already in progress and will be fixed in an upcoming version.
- Search options not working properly after v8: Version 8 introduced an AJAX search, which is working well in our environment. If the issue persists on your site, we encourage you to open a ticket so we can further investigate.
- Two search buttons on mobile: This issue is not supposed to be occurring. Could you kindly provide a screenshot so we can better understand what’s happening? We’ll investigate this further once we have more information.

- Featured listings not showing first: The order of featured listings depends on the pricing plan order you set when creating the plan. Listings in higher-tier plans will appear first, as they take priority. Please check that the pricing plan settings are configured as you intended.

- Location-based search issue: Directorist offers two types of location-based searches: one based on the listing location (through the taxonomy) and another through geolocation (address-based search). It seems like you’re using the geolocation search but are expecting results based on the listing location. To fix this, please navigate to Directory Listings > Directory Builder > Search Form Location and select Display from Listing Location.

As mentioned earlier, version 8 of the plugin was focused on significant improvements, particularly around optimization in terms of layout and performance. Hello alexbrain !
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to add a featured image directly to the SEO snippet for listings in the current setup. The featured image is typically displayed on the listing page itself, but it doesn’t automatically integrate into the SEO snippet. However, if you’d like to improve your SEO, you can focus on optimizing other aspects like the meta description, title tags, and structured data to improve visibility and ranking in search engines.
Kind Regards.Hello alexbrain !
Thank you for your question! You can set a limit on the number of images users can upload through the Add Listing form. This will ensure that no more than the specified number of images (e.g., 5) is displayed. To set this limit, navigate to Directory Listings > Directory Builder > Image. For reference, here’s a screenshot: https://prnt.sc/4ychsjID07yZ.
However, please note that limiting the number of images specifically in the Grid View (e.g., displaying only the first 5 images) is not currently available.
Thank you for your understanding!
Kind Regards.Hello alexbrain !
Thank you for reaching out! Currently, directories are displayed alphabetically by default, and the available sorting options can be seen here: https://prnt.sc/kDryZy2juQ_f.Unfortunately, creating a custom arbitrary sorting order is not available at the moment. However, we truly appreciate your suggestion! We’ll add this to our feature request list for consideration in future updates.
Thank you for your valuable feedback—it helps us improve!
Kind Regards.
