First of all, you are talking about Gema available on WordPress.com, not Gema Lite or Gema PRO available for self-hosted installations. These are still available for use.
Regarding WordPress.com, there has been some miscommunication about the WordPress.com version of Gema and all of our themes there (including the other authors) have been made inactive. The wording is wrong, but what can we do about it?
We are currently working to restore the themes on WordPress.com so they can be available again. It might take a week or two due to the review process and such.
We have no intention of retiring the themes or not supporting them. If you are after self-hosting, please take a look on our site.

You should update to the latest version (2.6.0) and tell us if the problem is still there.
We are actively maintaining the plugin and have no plans to discontinue it. All of our themes make use of it.
If you could open an issue with details on https://github.com/pixelgrade/customify so we could investigate, it would help a lot.

Rosa Lite is meant to be used with the Classic WordPress editor, not the new block editor. If you want the new block editor, you should use the just-released Rosa2 Lite.
You can change the header (hero) text from the metaboxes under the editor.
As for having a slider, I am afraid that is a feature that is available in the PRO version of Rosa.

To change colors and fonts you need to install the recommended plugin Customify. You should see a notice about this or you can install it via the Pixelgrade Assistant dashboard.

The issue you are experiencing is not with that function missing, but with the fact that the file containing it not being loaded. This is due to the fact that on Windows environments there was a bug with the file paths.
We have updated Felt Free to version 2.4.2.3 and you should now have no issues.
