Hi – any update on this? – that link still doesn’t work . . .
Thanks
OK – owning-up time. I started to do screendumps of settings, to aid a reinstall of UM, and found I hadn’t set the User page in the main Settings/Setup screen.
My apologies for wasting your time – the email link now works fine.
Hi again
Yes, that’s exactly it.
Conflict test done (with not quite as much finger-crossing as the last time I did it, terrified I’d lose all my plugin settings!) and the issue is still there, I’m afraid.
On the assumption I trashed a page that I shouldn’t have, I’ve brought back a page called User that I had imported from another test site back when I was setting this one up, and the email link now points to ‘user-2’; when I follow it, it gets re-directed to the home page.
Where should it actually end up?
As I implied before, this is a minor annoyance, so please don’t lose too much sleep over it. I’m wondering whether in fact I need to reinstall UM with the correct pages in place, but know that I can’t export all the UM settings and forms ready for a reinstall.Hi – thank you for the reply, & happy new year!
I’m afraid resetting that section hasn’t changed anything (apart from needing to turn the ‘user awaiting review’ on again). tbh, although it’d be nice to have it working properly, I don’t know where that link should point to; I’d always go to the Users section of the Dashboard, then ‘Pending review’ to approve new users, so as long as I’m getting the email notification, I don’t really need that link. I just don’t like it when things don’t work as they should! How does user_profile_link end up getting pointed at user-2_trashed?
PS – in case it’s any help, there are two underscores in that link, so it’s actually user-2__trashed

In reply to: [WooCommerce] ‘Shop’ missing from breadcrumb trailOK – gave up waiting, since you were all taking so long*, Googled more & found the ‘Products permalinks’ settings. Sorted.
Cheers

Oh good grief. Maybe the default should be ON, though?
Thank you
Pete
OK – thanks for making that clear.
Cheers
PeteHi again
Thanks for the reply; I’m afraid I didn’t make myself clear. What I’m trying to avoid is having to setup things like my edited forms again (eg default UM registration), along with UM permissions on pages / menu items / widgets etc. I don’t need to export users or their roles – I only have a handful of test ones anyway. I’m also puzzled as to why I couldn’t seem to get the import process to work properly – unless that’s because I was expecting the impossible. Is there a doc anywhere on it?
If I can’t do it, so be it – but I thought I’d ask!Cheers
PetePS – it’s v1.3.88 on both sites
Hi
Can I ask this question too, please? I also have found that categories I have marked as restricted by UM, complete with a redirection to the login page, are still shown if a non-logged-in user enters the category url directly; however, I’ve tried adding a new category, as with @grantcholland’s workaround, and that still isn’t restricted.
I’m on v1.3.88, & would appreciate it if you could suggest why this is happening.
Thanks
PeteOK – answer back from hosting company (atspace);
‘We can report that we do not use server-side caching simply because they are too resource-intensive.We suspect that the issue is related to your user’s web browser. Can you please instruct them to try using a different web browser and check if his login session still persists?’
Are you aware of any similar browser-related issues?
Cheers
PeteHi there
I’ve asked them, though it has to be said that a local version of my site seems to behave the same way, with Firefox again being the major culprit.
Meanwhile, you might need to check what @grantcholland was asking you . . .
Thanks
@petebmHi & thanks – I’m using Firefox.
I just tried with Edge, and the behaviour was different in that when I re-opened an Edge window after logging in, then closing, the basket still showed the ‘logged-in’ user’s items, but any attempt to go anywhere else, like the checkout or shop pages, correctly redirected me to the login page (though with the basket still showing!). Then I tried Chrome, & that behaved like Firefox in that reopening a window gave me access to the whole site, including (working) menu items that should be hidden from non-logged in users. https://imgur.com/a/UzgqM shows newly reopened Chrome at the top, Edge underneath.
Hope that helps!
PeteHi again
Thanks for the response. I’ve deactivated everything apart from UM & though nothing really works now (it’s not a site that’s in use yet, thank goodness!) – eg clicking on My account just brings up [woocommerce_my_account] – it still comes back with the logged-in page if I close & re-open a private browsing (or any other sort) window. The attached screenshots show initial window, window after logging in, & window after closing & re-opening & clicking on My account: https://imgur.com/a/FTkLF
So, no further forward, I’m afraid – over to you!
Thanks
