In reply to: [WordPress File Monitor Plus] Exclusion pathshey, just wanted to give this a bump. I still can’t figure out how to exclude paths with this plugin. Backupbuddy runs every day and this is the bulk of the notices it generates. Any help would really be appreciated.

In reply to: [Social Author Bio] Need to manually insert Social Author IconsThat did it thanks! This is great. There’s not a lot I would change about this. Other than the custom icons, I’d say the ability to change the order and titls/alt text added to each chicklet is the only thing that could be improved here. I can’t believe there are not more plugins like this considering it’s really what authors need for a number of reasons (authorship being the biggest one IMO). Nice job on this. I really appreciate it and hope other do too!

In reply to: [Social Author Bio] Need to manually insert Social Author IconsJust tried to implement it. No dice. For some reason, it’s not showing. I noticed that your original shortcode was [social-bio] so I plugged in [social-bio-icons] and that shows the same thing as [social-bio].

In reply to: [Social Author Bio] Need to manually insert Social Author IconsI noticed that. I’m going to try that out. Is there a way to replace the stock chicklets with my own? That will help me keep it consistent.

In reply to: [WP-Members Membership Plugin] Can anyone other than an Admin activate users?Seems to have done the trick. Thanks! This will save me a lot of headache. It’s challenging because I, as the admin, get all the emails from the site so I can’t put in a distribution email as my email because I don’t need everyone getting all of those. I figured out a workaround. I selectively forward emails to the mail account depending on reply to address and subject line (which I determined) to the editor helping me. I think this solution will do everything I need. Thank you for developing this plugin. It’s really very useful.

In reply to: [WP-Members Membership Plugin] Can anyone other than an Admin activate users?I have Members installed. What option should I enable for him? That would be a huge help for me? Is it edit_users?

In reply to: [Social Author Bio] Need to manually insert Social Author IconsAlso, if you can, it would be really cool to have the option to put more than one of each account (twitter, facebook pages, etc) in there as well. Some folks have multiple pages or profiles they would like to promote. 🙂

In reply to: [Social Author Bio] Need to manually insert Social Author IconsI just want to to show up on the one author page each author owns and that’s it. I just want to replace the manual chicklets at the bottom of these pages. They are not author pages per se, but bio pages:

A short code that I could drop in at the bottom of each page pulling the page owner’s info from their profile would be optimal. Alternatively I could just manually hard code the author ID for each page. It’s not like there are hundreds of them.
Don’t think anyone read this but whatever. I solved it myself. Turns out there was a major conflict with the Chap Login plugin. Once I got rid of that it works fine now. Chap is a cool plugin though so I would much rather not have done that. Maybe check to see what code butts heads and incorporate into next release?

In reply to: [Secret Content] Sidebar gets pushed right when hidden content appearsTurns out it was butting heads with Genesis post teasers widget. I needed to adjust the settings and deactivate/reactivate it. Now it seems to be working.
Interesting. I think the catch is that posts have categories and tags while pages have none. What I would love to have a common identifier for certain pages and posts (what they have in common) and just use that. I think this is more of a shortcoming of WP than anything else. The pages are really not meant to mix with the posts (which makes sense on some levels).
The issue with the random posts makes sense since I created those dummy posts within minutes of one another. The randomizer seems to play off the created date. I will try to modify those dates and see if that changes things. I doubt if hostgator has disabled the random feature mentioning in that link you sent me.
It seems to be working a lot better since re-installation. I do notice some of the functions won’t work. For instance, when I tell the widget to display any post or page and then specifically give it page IDs, it won’t display the posts. Also, when I tell it to display posts in random order it still serves them up in the same order every time.
I can get it to display all posts of a certain category right now – which is really what’s most important right now to me but would love to be able to randomly coming pages and posts.
On paper, this plugin looks like the only one I need for content display through widgets.
I can’t explain it. I uninstalled the plugin and reinstalled the CSS that Jetpack allows me to overwrite and now it seems to be working. Wow. I’m going to mess with it some more. Seems to be working good.
Have you noticed any problems with running more than one instance on the same page?
http://www.heritagelodge371.org. I have it on the home page and it definitely isn’t working right.
I am using the Genesis framework with the Genesis Agency child theme. I played around with the plugin extensively yesterday and there was a ton of wonkiness with it. I think that it either doesn’t work properly with the most recent version of Genesis or is just completely incomparable with the child theme. Nothing worked as it should and more disturbingly it was very very inconsistent. I was able to have just posts from a certain category show up – sometimes – other times those same settings didn’t work at all.
