I have 1 regular page in the menu with a custom template which shows the news and events in a custom loop.
Basically all I need is 1 extra field to type in a username, or names.. with another plugin I can handle what to do what the field content.

I edited the category base but that only works if you have one page using categories.
I am using multiple pages that depend on categories I would somehow like to “link” to the pages.
So category news, well is a news item that should link to the news page.
Project categories should open in the category page.
Don’t know if a solution like that is there for WordPress.
