Hi There,
– What version of Organize series did you update from?
– Are posts still attached to their series when viewed from your admin?
– Do you have any custom code and/or templates for Organize Series usage?
– Have you tried changing temporarily to a different theme (one of the “twenty..” themes) and see if the issue persists?
– Have you tried temporarily deactivating various plugins to see if one of them is conflicting with Organize Series (the https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/ is useful for doing this sort of thing)?Your’s is the first report I’ve seen for this, I suspect there’s a conflict with another plugin or maybe the theme. Hoping we can find out what’s happening in your case!
Organize Series has an add-on that allows for using series with pages (or any other post-type). See https://organizeseries.com/downloads/organize-series-custom-post-type-support/.
Organize Series has an add-on that enables it for other post-types (see https://organizeseries.com/downloads/organize-series-custom-post-type-support/)
Thanks for the report (I just became aware of this), I’ve created a github issue for it: https://github.com/roughsmoothengine/organize-series/issues/53
Hi there,
I just released 2.4.11 of Organize Series which should fix the issue you raised here. Please let me know if it does. Thanks!
Hi there,
Thanks for reporting this, its a bug and I’ve created an issue to get it fixe: https://github.com/roughsmoothengine/organize-series/issues/50. As a workaround (until I get the fix released – hopefully before the end of the weekend) you can uncheck the “(toggle if a list of other posts in the series will show on posts that are part of a series)” option in the Organize Series “Series TOC” widget.
> TL;DR: don’t recommend “a new version” of software that doesn’t run on the server to begin with. Figure it out, devs.
I’m sorry you had the experience you did. What’s alarming to me is that your host is saying they do not support 5.6+. This is the first time I’ve heard of a host saying something like that and in the course of my day to day work I’ve encountered a lot of them. What version of PHP IS your server running. I recommend looking here to see the the official list of PHP versions that are supported by PHP: http://php.net/supported-versions.php
Also, name calling is really not necessary. I didn’t make this change to screw over users.
I did what I could to make sure existing users would know about the upcoming version requirements. I put in a warning two versions before the release with the PHP version requirement via an admin notice, however, since there was no way for me to notify users of older Organize Series version, I also updated the Organize Series listing here in WordPress.org.
Also, there is no way for a plugin or WordPress to be aware of what software a host will refuse to install. Again, if your host is telling you they won’t install PHP 5.6 or higher, then you may want to consider switching hosts because that’s highly unusual and alarming if you’re getting that advice. Pretty much every reputable host I’ve encountered provide an upgrade path to the latest version of PHP 7 (which will satisfy the requirements of Organize Series).
Hi there,
Organize Series core only supports posts out of the box. However the Custom Post Type Support Add-on for Organize Series should meet your needs.
Hi Phil,
I’ve tried setting a series icon for the latest version of Organize Series and am not having any problems. I’m definitely not reproducing the problem you are experiencing.
It sounds like you may have another plugin (or maybe a theme) hooking in and adding the site url. It also appears your site url and the url your media lives at are two different things. That suggests you have some site customizations surrounding media that are not integrating with series images maybe?

Hi Serge,
Sorry that you didn’t get the behaviour you expected. Currently series descriptions do not support shortcodes.
awesome, thanks for reporting back 🙂
Please create new threads for new issues. I had already marked this resolved for the reported issues but now you’ve added a new issue. Also, the warnings seem to indicate this does not have anything to do with Organize Series core but instead with the shortcodes add-on for Organize Series, so it probably doesn’t fit in this forum. You can report bugs for add-ons here (Select “add-on bug report” from the dropdown options). Thanks.
This should be fixed in the latest version (2.5.10)

Hi there, I JUST released a build that fixes this issue. My apologies, it slipped through testing and I discovered the same issue on one of the sites I updated.
Updating to the newest version should fix.
