In reply to: how many posts can i publish whit WPPostgres is nothing but a fork of mysql, there’s very little preformance difference between the two, and you’ll never notice unless you’re clocking down to the 0.001 seconds. mySQL has been proven to scale fine.

In reply to: Change Default Page After Login?A simple way would be to simply copy post.php to index.php (but this gets rid of your dashboard altogether, not sure if you still want it. Optionally, you can just add a redirect on index.php to post.php

In reply to: REQ: help making a theme….A common misconception is that you have to learn PHP to make a WordPress theme.
http://mattread.com/archives/2005/04/wordpress-is-not-php/
Really, you don’t have to learn PHP to make a theme.
http://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Development has some information on putting the theme together that is a definate help in the theming process also.

In reply to: Plugin Announce: WP-Dash 1.0Yes, the pages are supposed to refresh. Having widget creation on the fly would mean CSS parsing in Javascript and more server intensive AJAX calls. I figured the hassle isn’t worth it.

In reply to: Plugin Announce: WP-Dash 1.0Alright, I finally fixed the disapearing widget problem we were having, and uploaded the changes. If anybody has one disappear this time, please, let me know, cause then something might be terribly wrong.

In reply to: Plugin Announce: WP-Dash 1.0More and more 3rd party widgets are coming in. You can see the list of all the ones that I know of at http://www.somethingunpredictable.com/dash-wiki/index.php/Widgets and add any that aren’t listed.

In reply to: Exhibit install error: Call to undefined function: get_currentuserinfo()The clean fix would be to take the portion of the code making the call and wrapper it in a function, and do
add_action('init', 'thefunction')as explained in the Plugin Development documenation at the codex.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: Plugin Announce: WP-Dash 1.0The fix was only dashboard-rss.php
For the linked to, you can syndicate the feed by technorati, which is actually all the dashboard does to. Open a new RSS widget, and use http://feeds.technorati.com/cosmos/rss/?url=http://somethingunpredictable.com/&partner=wordpress
except replace http://somethingunpredictable.com/ with your blog address.

In reply to: Plugin Announce: WP-Dash 1.0Aha, I take that back, it happened to me a few minutes ago. I just uploaded a new version that will hopefully fix the problem until I can look into some of the activate/deactivate hooks more.

In reply to: Plugin Announce: WP-Dash 1.0eragle, I can’t seem to reproduce the problem, so for now I’m going to hope that the feeds were down at that moment (but I’ll still keep my eyes open for a ghost bug)
Viper, its great to see some more 3rd party widgets developed. The more widgets we get, the more popular the plugin itself will become because of the range of features.

In reply to: Plugin Announce: WP-Dash 1.0Care to post what the feeds are (or email the URIs if you don’t want to post them. bobby@somethingunpredictable.com). My guess is that the feeds errored out in some way, so they were replaced.
