In reply to: alignment on page – i suspect a very easy fixshould be fine. the conditional call on the webpage is set to ignore ie7. just like it doesn’t run for firefox, it won’t run for the real ie7.
not that the real ie7 will fix everything. I found beta 2 better than beta 3 for somethings. lady’s site being one of them.

In reply to: Category HierarchyThere is also a plugin that lets you arrange categories any which way which you like that I find quite useful. Guess what it’s called? yep, Category Order. You’ll find it at the bottom of this page > http://www.coppit.org/code/

In reply to: Hlep Please – explain creating additional RSS Feeds for a PodCasta clone? perhaps not without a lot of effort.
But you could probably do a post based podcast list. and you could have a form for those who wish to post their podcast info that you turn into a post. And that could even be somewhat automated if you have your form send to an email address that wordpress reads and makes posts from.
so ya, you could sort of do a kind of a clone without too much effort. I’m not sure what benefit it would be though.

In reply to: ‘featured post’If you have the plugin installed (the easiest way to do this), just click Options and then CQS to get to the config page for it. See where it says Add a New Condition? Beside Query select is_home, then move to the right and enter the number for posts you want to show (1 in this case). Then move to the right, and hit the Add button. That’s all you need do. I recommend you get your hands dirty with the plugin. Anything you do can be deleted easily.

In reply to: Please help me with upgrading!!!I just upgraded a 1.5.2 site today. easy as pie. everything in your wp-content folder is safe
first, make a backup just in case.
then, turn off plugins. (i never bothered with that)
then I replaced the new files right over top the old ones. I went to thedomain.com/wordpress/wp-admin. it said to click something to upgrade, and I did what it said.
check for plugin updates or turn them back on one by one.
pretty painless.
Or you could follow official updates instructions. I like to live dangerously sometimes! 🙂
