In reply to: WP 2.0.4 – running terribly slowly! It is helpful to the devs to know, if you are experiencing a slow-down after upgrading to 2.0.4, from which version you upgraded, as well as where the slow-down occurs.

In reply to: First WordPattern plugin! Zeitgeist – Enhanced Dashboardladydelaluna,
What is there to disbelieve or ridicule?
Either there is a plugin or there is not. (There is.)
Either it will cost you $5 or it will not. (It will.)
Maybe you guys don’t really use your blogs, so find the Dashboard sufficient. Zeitgeist is only of use to people with active, living blogs rather than “content-rich” ad revenue generators.
Don’t you believe there is money to be made out of WordPress? I do, but unlike the WordPress developers, I cannot make money by giving my products away.

In reply to: First WordPattern plugin! Zeitgeist – Enhanced DashboardGuys,
I appreciate that sometimes words aren’t enough to convince, so I have prepared a working demonstration of Zeitgeist.

Play away. If it breaks, I don’t want to know. That’s live code and I’m still working on it. 🙂

In reply to: First WordPattern plugin! Zeitgeist – Enhanced DashboardMakki,
That’s perfectly fine by me. I probably wouldn’t pay for a plugin either, but that is because I can write them.

In reply to: First WordPattern plugin! Zeitgeist – Enhanced Dashboardladydelaluna,
$5 says it’s real. Are you a gambler?
Ask me for the beta code.

In reply to: First WordPattern plugin! Zeitgeist – Enhanced DashboardI’m serious. My Zeitgeist plugin is now in final quality test prior to a beta release. It’s looking lovely, if I do say so myself!
I still have a manual to write. Grumble, grumble.
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: First WordPattern plugin! Zeitgeist – Enhanced DashboardBecause it’s worth it. It is a measure of quality. Why else does something come with a price tag?
A lot of thought goes in to what I make. I write quality code. I’m not so hot on manuals, but I have help.

In reply to: The case of the overly-slim DashboardIf you have trouble with the external RSS feeds to the Dashboard, they can be disabled by commenting out line 5 of wp-admin/index.php.
//require_once(… … ‘rss-functions.php)

In reply to: First WordPattern plugin! Zeitgeist – Enhanced DashboardAren’t you the least bit interested in trying, for no charge, a pre-release version of a plugin that costs a one-off 5 bucks, per blog, per version?
Matt charges more for Akismet, yet Zeitgeist is 83% better written. http://akismet.com/buy/pro-blogger/
I’m planning to spend on Google ads. 🙂

In reply to: First WordPattern plugin! Zeitgeist – Enhanced DashboardWhy would I joke about money? The time and effort of a professional craftsman is worthy of compensation.
Zeitgeist saves me time and effort. It makes my blog more convenient to use. That’s why I built it. It’s a time-saving convenience. You’ll save $5 in no time and without effort.
Why not beta-test? The reward is a release version at no charge. It is a limited offer. First 13 only.

In reply to: First WordPattern plugin! Zeitgeist – Enhanced DashboardZeitgeist is all about telling you what is going on.
You see who you are.
You see the current time and your interest settings.
You see a summary of the interesting posts, comments, categories and people.
You see the most recent posts with comments and commenters of interest.
You see the most recent comments, where they were made and by whom.
You see the most recent categories and the posts to which they relate.
You see the interesting people, what they last did, when and where.
Then you start to play. Look for titles. Click on the strange symbols. What does that do? click Oooooo…! 🙂

At what screen resolution does the search bar bleed for you in FF? Do you know of a coding that works for all browsers/resolutions?

In reply to: Looking for a WYSIWYG editor for wordpressCan you explain a bit more what you mean by WYSIWYG? Do you wish to enter tagged text without seeing tags? What kind of features are you looking for in such an editor?

In reply to: Liberating WordPressOne thing I’ve just noticed that I have to heap praise upon. The referral URLs to my website from here include a query string with the number of replies to this comment at the time of referral. That should prove interesting and useful into the future.
I know it is purely an artefact of the URL structure of this site but I really like it. What a great idea.
