Hi,
I was wondering if you had any news regarding the missing 404s that the plugin is not picking up on the logs, on our end we are missing important 404s that we are seeing on our server error logs.
On a separate note, in one of our web sites we had to delete the plugin for trouble shooting something else. When we re installed the plugin the old settings were still there. Are there any files or settings left behind even if the plugin gets deleted? Where are the settings stored?

In reply to: [WPS Hide Login] Triggers Fatal ErrorIf you are using cloudflare you would also need to clear the cache there too

In reply to: [WPS Hide Login] Triggers Fatal ErrorI have WP Rocket too and I don’t see any issues on my end. Make sure that under “Advanced Rule” > Never Cache URL(s) you have your secret URL listed there (just the path /yoursecretURL without http or www). Save and clear your cache again.
Many thanks Joel

Here is a sample from the server logs. We are able to capture these 404s as well on the WordPress 404 module for the plugin iThemes.

Hi Joel,
Thank you so much for your response.

Hi Joel,
Thanks for the quick response.
Is it OK to block Freemious on my .htaccess ?

Hi Joel,
Under “settings” the plugin has the Opt in button, but clicking on it does not do anything. I don’t believe that we have ever “opt in”, but since clicking on those setting does not do anything is there a line of code to look for to make sure that Freemious is disabled? Is it OK to block freemious on my .htaccess ?

In reply to: [Redirection] Are these the bot type of 404s?Those 404s are not a problem for Google.
If you go the link https://realfavicongenerator.net/
All you need to do is upload your logo there and follow the instructions. The site will generate all the files you need to make those 404s go away.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Redirection] Are these the bot type of 404s?You are missing icon components on your site. When a regular user goes to your site and those components are not available you will get a 404 on your reports.
Here is a link that will help you with this. Type in your web site address and it will tell you what icons and favicons you are missing.
Hi Joel,
Thanks for the explanation. The reason we got confused is because we had actually deleted the plugin and re install it, and nothing changed, there was no Opt in screen even though it was a new installation. Thanks for the quick response.
Many thanks Joel.
Cheers!
Hi @joelcj91
It worked!
Many thanks! So what happens next time there is an update on the plugin? Do I need to always change that line of code?
