Same thing here. I have deactivated and deleted the plugin for now until I can figure out what is going on.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Redirection] So many entries in the 404s pageFrom my own experience I can tell you that I had a client with a similar situation.
When looking at the logs, a lot to the 404s were bot originated, meaning that there were bots looking for file vulnerabilities and when that file was not found a 404 was returned. This turned out to be a great asset for us as we were able to harden the security on the site better, turning the unwanted 404s into 403s responses.
Also it’s very common on new sites to see this as you might have inherited a website with an IP address that had probably had a past from being hacked or an issue with your permalinks.

In reply to: [Redirection] Feature RequestIf you are getting 404s you should look at the source and the reason of the 404s not the reporting tool that is helping you find it. The only reason I use this plugin is because of its strong 404 reporting capabilities. Many 404 reported by the plugin are also helpful and seeing how some hackers are tying to find files or paths on the site that do not exist.

That is a really bad idea. Thanks to this plugin and its extensive 404 logins, I have been able to trouble shoot many of my clients websites.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Redirection] Security QuestionHi @johnny5
Thanks for the explanation.
For some reason one of our security scanner was picking this up. maybe as a false positive. Any security concerns?
Regards,
Yeah, sorry about the confusion it created a value not a file.
I was doing all the procedures via the dashboard. The manual stuff was done becase the dashboard did not clean up the values left behind on the database.
Joel, please let me know that “FS” stand for or belongs to (see sample below)
The file called fs_api_cache with a value of a:0:{}We are trying to resolve an event left on our server logs and knowing where this “FS” stands for, would help us.
Regards,
Can you please tell me what the file “FS” stand for or belongs to (see sample below)

I just deactivated the plugin first and then deleted it. That is all.
We discovered the files left behind by pure accident. When we initially deleted the plugin and re installed it again, we noticed that all the settings for the plugin were still there, this let us to believe that something was still on the database somewhere. We did finally deactivated the plugin again and then deleted it one more time. Then we went to the database to manually delete the files manually.

Hi @joelcj91
Thanks for the information.
I really liked your plugin but it was missing too many valid 404s that the server internal logs were picking up but the plugin logs did not. Maybe if there is a fix in the future I will reinstall.
Thanks again for all your help.
Hi,
Many thanks for the reply.
It was purely a client’s decision, the 404 module completely failed for them. False positives, blocked real traffic, and in top of that they could not delete the logs at will like the original plugin used to.
