Hotlinking is illegal, for all the reasons listed above by Ipstenu, Andrea_r, and esmi. Don’t do it. Period.
Stealing images from other sites and reusing them without permission is also illegal. I’m a photographer, and get very angry when I find my images being used without my permission. I’m not the only photographer who feels that way, and some get very vindictive when they catch someone. So don’t do that either.
If you find an image you would like to use, contact the website owner and ask them if it is their image and, if so, would they mind if you used it on your site. Follow whatever conditions they give you for reuse if they agree. If they don’t agree, then look somewhere else.
Copyright infringement complaints directed to your host can/will get your site yanked offline and your hosting account suspended/terminated. And yes, you can also get sued. Wikipedia is not the end-all/be-all for legal advice.
Stop playing word games. You asked for advice and you’ve been given said advice from some smart people. Now follow it.

There is no settings panel. You upload and activate and it just works. And yes, it works just fine in WordPress 3.2.1.
I am after hiding the dashboard / Tools / Help Menu etc for the Contributor role ONLY.

The plugin only supports hiding these things from Subscribers. I don’t provide support for any other role.
Also is it possible to enable the upload image from within the post area but HIDE the media gallery as i dont want one contributor seeing anothers images and vise-vera.
Not with my plugin. And not sure if that can be done or not.

In reply to: [WP Hide Dashboard] How to block dashboard from Subscribers but not Editors?Do me a favor. Disable all of the plugins, and see if the dashboard shows up for the Editor role (it should).
Reactivate WP Hide Dashboard and check again. It should still be there.
Then begin reactivating your other plugins, one at a time, and check after each one whether the Editor role can still access the dashboard. Make a note of what plugin you activated when it disappears again and post it back here please.

Also, what other plugins do you have installed/activated?

I removed support for menu items for roles other than Subscriber. WP Hide Dashboard is a simple plugin, and was built for the Subscriber role. While I appreciate that some users need this type of functionality for other roles, most don’t require it, so I don’t want to bloat the plugin with unnecessary code for the majority of users.
If you need to hide admin sidebar menu links from roles other than Subscriber, I recommend using the Admin Menu Editor plugin to accomplish that goal. Currently it only removes links in the admin sidebar menu. The plugin author has indicated they may add support for removing admin bar menu links in a future version.

In reply to: [WP Hide Dashboard] [Plugin: WP Hide Dashboard] Media Tab still visible@neononcon: The Media tab is not visible to Subscribers by default in WordPress – only the Dashboard and Profile tabs are on for Subscribers. If it is appearing on your install, then another plugin is causing this.
Disable all plugins (except for Akismet and WP Hide Dashboard) and see if the Media tab disappears. If it does, then you need to figure out what plugin is causing it to show up. To do that, reactivate 1 plugin at a time, checking to see if the Media tab is back after each one. When it reappears, make a note of the plugin and post your results back here please.

It would be used in place of the Meta widget. Be sure to read the documentation on how to hide the Dashboard link from everyone but the admin that is included on the plugin’s Settings page. You can also change the link names there as well.

In order to troubleshoot this, I need to know:
1. Is one of the 3 sites in your install the dashboard site (i.e., no content)?
2. Members, Multisite User Management and WP Hide Dashboard – are they enabled on only 1 site or did you network-activate them? Do you have any plugins in the mu-plugins folder?
Also, have you tried disabling all of the plugins on the 1 site, other than my plugin, to see if the issue persists?

The instructions for hiding the dashboard from subscribers, contributors and editors are included in the FAQ tab on the plugin’s page here on wordpress.org, and in the readme.txt file that comes with the plugin download.
WP-Member is a premium plugin that I do not have access to in order to test it with my plugin. However, it sounds like you are having the same issue as another user did a few weeks ago.
Try applying the fix I listed in this thread to your copy of WP Hide Dashboard and see if that fixes the issue for you.
