In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] Asking for subscription for import feedsIs there any way to force a refresh of the import? That used to be possible…
When I create google calendar events and get them imported, I have to then assign them to categories internal to WordPress for the proper logo and sorting… and having to come back hours later to do it is a real issue.

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] Edits to imported events get erased…hmmm…. posted a week ago and not even a single acknowledgement or response?
never mind…
Apparently, checking the category boxes in the membership group settings changes those groups to be membership access only. (that should be spelled out somewhere. If it is, I apologize for being dense… I was under the impression that checking that box just gave the group access to those categories – not that it made those categories be group access only!)

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] styling for widget disappeared…Hi gajinder, thanks for responding…
I am not sure what caused the loss of CSS – I just happened to notice that the widget CSS has disappeared right after the upgrade of the plugin.
It got re-applied when I switched themes in the AIOEC (although, as noted above, that caused some errors in itself)
thanks for the link… I normally take a daily backup of the site, so I could have restored if needed… but, since there were several other updates applied before I noticed the issue, I preferred to work around it without resorting to a restore. 🙂

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] styling for widget disappeared…new discovery…. In an attempt to force the system to reload the appropriate CSS, I tried to change the AIOEC theme and recieved an error screen
Cannot load all-in-one-event-calendar-themesI had to “back button” back to the previous screen…
where the changes had actually been recorded and the theme was changed and it does seem to have the appropriate result on the widget…Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] Cache directories not writable?Thank you Benjamin, It was already upgraded… I did not realize that the error message would continue to stay.
I would argue that it is indeed related, since it has EXACTLY the same result…
<!– ngg_resource_manager_marker –> code inserted before another plugin’s RSS feed, thus invalidating that feed’s XML.Yes, you may have fixed the standard wordpress RSS feed… so – addressed one specific instance of a larger problem that continues to be a problem — but, you are still popping your comment/marker code into every single page, whether it is HTML or not….
And it appears that there is a much larger issue, because in addition to the RSS feed being borked by the mod, it also borks the alert pop-ups (which are plain text, but, for some reason, your gallery mod inserts itself before that, thus screwing it up as well)
It seems to be an ongoing issue in 2.0.65 with WP Auctions
– the <!– ngg_resource_manager_marker –> appears, not only in the feed, but in ANY trigger of an auction file with an argumentForum: Plugins
In reply to: [WordPress Auction Plugin] Widget pop-up shows nothing (not loading)BTW: For historical purposes, and in case anyone else comes across this is a searhc…
I encountered the same problem with both the free and pro versions.
This appears to have been related to a security protection in the /wp-content/ directory, with an .htaccess file added that prevents direct access to any php files in /wp-content/ subdirectories.Since the pop-up tries to access the auctions.php file directly, the access restriction kicked in. The white/grey popup was actually a 403, forbidden error (as determined in firebug console_

In reply to: Yet another "add images to post" problem since 3.6.1holy moly… Sorry to say this – but this has got to be the most silly support that I have ever seen. I do support for a forum software and a complete undo of every customization and a reload of the site forcing the admin to redo every thing that has taken years to get designed is the **LAST** option, not the first. It seems to be obnoxious in the extreme.
If I have to do what you list, it will literally take me DAYS…
Yes, I need to find the error… however, you have basically just told me to nuke my site and then try to rebuild it.I’ll do it, if I have to, but there has got to be a better way.
as for your specific suggestions:
Why would I need to deactivate ALL plugins? I understand interactions, but how would a plugin targeting the registration be affecting my post/media? and if it doesn’t (and it shouldn’t!) why would I need to deactivate or remove that plugin?I am sure that you could design a theme to do just that… but again, if the theme that I am using only affects the front end, why the hell would anything I do with the theme affect the back end? especially since the theme was not updated – but WP was. This seems to point to a WP issue, not a theme issue. If I change the theme, there is no affect to the admin section – but it makes my front end look like crap (which is why I don’t use the “standard” theme to begin with.)
Wht you are suggesting is NOT “basic troubleshooting”. What you are suggesting is a nuclear approach. “It doesn’t work. Nuke everything and start from scratch”

In reply to: Yet another "add images to post" problem since 3.6.1I have tried deactivating all plugins which affect the media library or post pages.
The theme that I use does not affect the admin section. For admin, I use the standard layout and theme.
I do not believe that suggesting a full reload of everything (thus requiring a re download and reapplication of ALL plugins, themes and other customizations) is a realistic suggestion for an issue in a single location which only triggered with the last WP update.
If the site was unreachable or had some major crashing issue, that seems like a probable likely suggestion, but for a single function, it seems like treating a case of acne by using C4 to blow off your face.confirmed that reverting to 2.0.17 fixes the lightbox issues in admin (problem existing in 2.0.21 and 2.0.23)
I can confirm this. I just upgraded to 2.0.23 and within 5 minutes, my site was dead with too many processes running. I had to have my host kill the processes and the confirmed that it was the wp-cron.
