In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] 0.9.2.1 still BAD -> FTP details@ballet News
What’s “best” to do is relative.
The easiest solution is to simply disable CSS and JS minify in the Minify settings.
If you’re willing to do some work to patch the problem, then try frg’s solution above.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] CSS is broken with Latest W3TCJust did a downgrade test and found that W3TC 9.1.3 left off the “gzip” extension from minified CSS and JS files just like 9.2.X. Downgrading further to 9.1 fixed this.
Not sure why others had success with 9.1.3. Maybe this is a compatibility issue with different versions of WP?
FWIW, I’m using WP 3.1.2.

In reply to: [W3 Total Cache] [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] 0.9.2.1 still BAD -> FTP detailsKeep in mind that this problem seems to behave differently in certain browsers (as others have noted). Also your ISP and/or proxy settings may affect whether you see the problem or not. For some reason my websites looked fine in my office on Mac, PC, FF, IE, and Safari. But everyone else saw unstyled websites. I even tried bypassing our WildBlue proxy in an effort to see the problem but no luck. In the end I’m still not sure why my office is immune to the problem. Weird.

I’m experiencing the same problem on a pages only WP site. I have to manually rebuild the sitemap for changes to show up. The Google XML Sitemaps plugin auto-updates just fine.

In reply to: [Adminimize] [Plugin: Adminimize] 1.7.14 doesn not work on WP 3.1FWIW, White Label CMS + WP 3.1 is working for me. This is on a site that was upgraded to 3.1 rather than a fresh install. Not sure if that makes a difference. Maybe PHP is the problem? But you would think it would throw an error if there was a problem. In any case I’m running PHP 4.4.9.
White Label isn’t NEARLY as customizable as Adminimize but it suits my needs. I haven’t tested Adminimize much.
I think I figured out a solution. If I reduce the length of the input fields “psp_title”, “psp_description” and “psp_keywords”, the overly-long-input problem goes away. Defining the width of the input fields via CSS (instead of size=”XX”) solves the issue. Please consider this in future releases.
Thanks.

In reply to: [Platinum SEO] [Plugin: Platinum SEO Pack] Shadowbox JSI’m using Shadowbox JS and PSP with WP 3.0.1 and Shadowbox works fine. Like you, I suspect something else is the root of the problem though I don’t know what it would be. Since shadowbox “tags” the appropriate links after the page loads via javascript, it’s possible that another script is conflicting with this.
Here’s what I’m seeing using Mac 10.5.8 and FF 3.5.3:
http://tinypic.com/r/depkau/7Safari 5 seems to display it correctly.

In reply to: Why can't "Large" images exceed 1024 height?!?Scratch that. I figured it out. Thumbnails are generated on upload. If media sizes are changed after upload, then you must regenerate the thumbnails to have those sizes available. The plugin Regenerate Thumbnails seems to do a good job of doing this task.

In reply to: Lost widgets after site URL change.Same problem here. In my case, it was easier to just re-setup my widgets than to attempt a recover but I can see how this could be a big a headache for some users.
