Hi @samjnz
I understand you’re experiencing a conflict between Scrollsequence and Rank Math. Let me help you out with that.
I’m unable to reproduce the issue on my test site. This suggests the issue may be specific to your site.
Please confirm the following details for us:
- Is your Scrollsequence plugin updated to the latest 1.6.2 version?
- Does the issue happen on another device or browser without extensions?
- Are you using a caching plugin or server-side caching like a CDN?
- Are you using any JavaScript optimization or minification features?
- Have you recently installed or updated WordPress, any plugins, themes, or PHP?
Looking forward to your response.
Kind regards.
Hi @windmeile
Thanks for getting back to us. I looked that theme up and it appears to be made by ThemeForest.
Could you please check with your theme’s contact support if the theme you’re using is”Ajax -based“? i.e. It does not load a new page when clicking a link, but instead rearranges the existing HTML elements and changes the URL via JavaScript.
In the past, we’ve seen similar themes being incompatible with Scrollsequence as well (Alioth theme and few other Ajax-based themes).
If your theme is indeed Ajax-based, due to the specific nature of how this theme works, we’re sorry to let you know that it is indeed incompatible with Scrollsequence and there’s nothing we can do about it for now.
Ales, the plugin author, tried his best to make this plugin work everywhere, but it is extremely challenging to make a plugin work with all the thousands of themes, plugins and configurations that are possible.
We highly recommend using themes that are not Ajax-based instead.
We appreciate your patience and kind understanding on this matter. Please let us know if you have other questions.
Best regards
Hi @windmeile
I understand you’re having issues with your Scrollsequence animation. Let me help you out with this.
I checked your site’s homepage and saw the issues you described (see screenshot).
It looks like your Scrollsequence plugin is outdated. Could you please try updating it to the latest 1.5.9 version and see if it helps?
Please clear all your caches as well, including any “Used CSS” features to eliminate any possible caching issues.
Here’s a helpful guide that you can follow: https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-clear-your-cache-in-wordpress/
If you are using a caching plugin, you can also deactivate it for a second to test it. Then let us know what caching plugin you are using, as we might need to exclude/configure some rules to permanently fix the caching issue.
I hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes.
Kind regards

In reply to: [Scrollsequence - Cinematic Scroll Image Animation Plugin] Variable HeightHi @nanpresser ,
I understand you’re having an issue with your Scrollsequence animation. Let me help you out with this.
Could you please share the link to the page where we can see the animation?
Having a white space around the animation is an expected behavior if you’re using the “Scale to Fit” option under Image Scale and Alignment setting (see screenshot). As it will always try to fit the screen and show the full animation.
The idea of the plugin is to provide a “full-screen cinematic experience”, so the approach of trying to make the canvas smaller is not really recommended, even though it is possible.
As a workaround, use the Fixed Content editor to fill the screen around the animation. You can position it as you like around the image sequence using CSS.
Or, you can try using “Scale to Fill” instead under the same setting.
See how the Image Scale and Alignment options will behave on a mobile device here: https://scrollsequence.com/documentation/#section-7
I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have other questions.
Kind regards

Hi Jacob,
I hope you’re well.
Just checking out if the troubleshooting steps helped and you were able to fix the issue?
Looking forward to your response.
Kind regards, Jamie
Hi Jacob,
I understand you’re getting server timeouts when Scrollsequence is activated on your site. I’m happy to help you out with this.
I can confirm that I’m not experiencing this issue on my test site, so it might only be isolated on your site.
Could you please check with your webhost if there are related PHP errors that’s in their logs?
Please also do the following troubleshooting steps and see if they help:
1. Update your Scrollsequence plugin (free/premium) to the latest 1.5.7 version if you haven’t already. We always recommend updating all plugins and themes to their latest versions to avoid any possible settings misconfigurations, conflicts or errors.
2. Clear all your caches, including any “Used CSS” features to eliminate any possible caching issues:
- Browser’s cache: Web Browsers – Clear the Cache
- Mobile browser’s cache: Clear Mobile Browser Cache
- Caching plugin’s cache: (e.g. WP Rocket, WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache)
- Any server caching like CDN: (e.g. Cloudflare, Amazon CloudFront, CacheFly) You might need to reach out to your webhost to clear the server cache.
3. Check for a plugin conflict by deactivating all the other plugins (leaving only Scrollsequence activated) and then re-activating them one by one to know which plugin is the culprit.
4. Try using a default WordPress theme as well, like Twenty Twenty-Four with only Scrollsequence active, to see if you’ll get a different result.
We appreciate your cooperation. Looking forward to your response.
Kind regards, Jamie

Hi @greg3333
Yes, that’s possible as well. In this case, you can add the background images through the Content Editor in the Scrollsequence settings. The Content Editor allows you to enter anything in a classic manner using HTML or WordPress editor (see screenshot).
Please check our documentation for more details: https://scrollsequence.com/documentation/
We also have a demo site where you can try your animations using the premium features for free. See: https://scrollsequence.com/live-demo/wp-admin
Username or Email Address: demo
Password: demo
I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have other questions.
Kind regards
Hi @greg3333
I understand you want a specific layout for your animation. I’m happy to help you out with this
Yes, the layout in the example you provided is possible with Scrollsequence. Here’s an example: https://scrollsequence.com/
You just need to have a video or set of images that already have the exact layout you want (in your case, the bottle with background images). If you’re going to start with a video, you need to convert it to images so you can upload them in your Scrollsequence.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have other questions.
