In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Email Share not workingWorks on Chrome when not logged in issue occurs when logged in to the website. It did not occur to me that could be the issue I am sorry I did not check that earlier.
Have you followed up my suggestion in looking at your browser console? Do you see any error there?
If possible, we suggest trying to run testings with only Jetpack and a default theme like Twenty Twenty. Let us know if this issue still exists with that test.
I will need to create your team an account to diagnose how do I get the information to create you an account?
Please give us the information we’re asking above. Then if we’re not able to figure out what’s going on, we will instruct you how to send us a user on your site. NOTE: please send any private info here.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Email Share not workingI tested this feature on Chrome and it’s working OK: https://d.pr/i/2V3pb2
Since we’re not able to reproduce this issue, it’s a bit tricky to troubleshoot it further. That said, can you please try reproducing the issue, follow up the guide below, and let us know what you see?

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Critical errorWe’re sorry to see this error happens on your site.
Based on the error itself, it seems that WooCommerce or Jetpack was not updated completely.
There are a number of reasons that an automatic update could fail. Jetpack/WooCoommerce is a large plugin, with many modules and language files. This can cause issues with some servers when using the automatic update.
Could you please try manually reinstalling Jetpack and WooCommerce? To do so, download the Jetpack plugin here:
http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/jetpack.latest-stable.zip
http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/woocommerce.latest-stable.zipThen, log in to your site via FTP, and delete the existing Jetpack and WooCommerce plugin folders. You should then be able to reinstall the plugins manually by following the instructions here:
I would strongly recommend that you make a complete backup of your website before trying this.
I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any questions.
Hello,
It sounds like a compatibility issue with your theme or another plugin when they’re calling the_content() function in various places.
You can try disabling other themes/plugins one-by-one and check the issue to find out the problematic one. Then you can consider disabling this theme or plugin.
Hello Pepper,
Basically, they’re still two sites. On our log, it looks like that you moved followers from your .com site to your self-hosted site.
What we suggest here is that you mark your .com site as Private or Coming Soon under, and suggest your visitors to go to your current self-hosted site.
You can do that here https://wordpress.com/settings/general/
It is a cheap shared hosting from my client.
Could it be a restriction from the hoster?Based on the error itself, it’s not an issue with limited resources (memory, CPU, etc).
Instead, the error happens because of the unexpected data type.
Thanks for your screenshot. It’s helpful to see what’s going on with your account.
If I guess it’s correctly, your screenshot is what you’re seeing at https://wordpress.com/marketing/connections?site=www.bestdataset.com
That’s because your current logged-in WordPress.com account is not the account you used to connect Jetpack.
If you do not know what your current WordPress.com owner is, please go to WP Admin -> Jetpack -> Dashboard -> Scroll down to “Connections”, and from there you can find “Account connection”.
It looks like this http://cld.wthms.co/W6OABb
We notice two issues with your site:
1. Currently, Jetpack is not being connected properly on your site https://comicpress.socksandpuppets.com/
2. There is no active Publicize connection for this site. When we run connection tests to https://comicpress.socksandpuppets.com/xmlrpc.php?for=jetpack, it does not return the expected result. Instead, it only returns this content:
XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.It may indicate that your site is caching all requests to this file. We suggest checking your site, and making sure that this file is not cached.
After that, please try reconnecting your social network connections https://jetpack.com/support/publicize/#connecting-to-social-networks
Let us know if the issue is still there.
We’re sorry to see that you’re getting this error.
It’s an issue with the latest Jetpack version 9.2. It will be fixed when we release the next version of Jetpack.
Until then, you can try a workaround here https://wordpress.org/support/topic/jetpack-causes-a-connection-error-to-my-site-after-the-last-update/#post-13737935
Hi,
It’s a pity that Jetpack Image CDN caches your images “forever”.
We mentioned this here https://jetpack.com/support/site-accelerator/#limitationsIf you want to update your images, please upload updated images with new filenames. Editing images directly on WordPress does not invalidate your cached images.
We hope that clarifies your question.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Gallery/Carousel pluginHi,
Does this only display camera data? What I really need is to be able to add a few lines of text relative to a painting or sculpture, like size date and medium.
You can add image descriptions when these images are popped up on the screen.
Something like this: https://jetpack.com/support/carousel/#jp-carousel-821
Screenshot https://d.pr/i/D9yBqiHello @gohowardtx,
Please do not reveal your salt keys in your wp-config.php file. You will want to consider updating new keys from this page https://api.wordpress.org/secret-key/1.1/salt/
I tried changing it to:
define(‘JETPACK_SIGNATURE__HTTP_PORT’, ‘9898’ );
to match the existing format this prevents the configuration error but still have the connection error. We’re sorry for the confusion here. Actually, we can not support if your site address having port numbers like this
http://blogger.howardstx.com:9898/You may implement other proxy/caching servers with other port numbers (e.g. 9898) between your real web servers and the address that your site receives HTTP requests. To use Jetpack, your site should be accessible from the public with either
http://blogger.howardstx.comorhttps://blogger.howardstx.comin other words with either port 80 or 443.In case, you need a reference, here is the implementation of this part.

The error only occurs from time to time. That would take ages.
That means this error only happens sometimes and you do not know the exact steps to replicate it?
Actually, we had a similar report a few years ago but we need to close it as we were not able to replicate it. https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/7252
Also, it’s important to run the test mentioned by MadHatter above? We’d like to rule out any conflict with other plugins. In case, your site is a production site, you can use this plugin to create a staging site, and run tests on this staging site https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-staging/
Hello Wesley,
As we understand that this issue happens only when Divi theme, Jetpack, and Anti-Spam Bee active?
After that I had saving problems with DIVI messages.
Can you let us know the specific message error? Where can we replicate this error?
If possible, please take some screenshots for us to show the issue? You can use this free app https://snipboard.io/Today I deactivated Jetpack. The result is that the DIVI saving error is gone.
What do you recommend to do from here?Based on the info from here https://wordpress.org/plugins/antispam-bee/
Does Antispam Bee work with Jetpack, Disqus Comments and other comment plugins?, it seems that Jetpack Comments and Antispam Bee are not compatible with each other.Hello,
Regarding the polyglot platform, I couldn’t find a way to search it; Is there?
I also assumed this won’t be under wordpress.org, as it’s part of a wordpress.com feature. Am I wrong? We’ve checked again and your reasoning is correct here. You’re correct that your Hebrew translation is from
Read more of this postas you can check here https://translate.wordpress.com/projects/wpcom/he/default/?filters%5Bstatus%5D=either&filters%5Boriginal_id%5D=8011&filters%5Btranslation_id%5D=4249194However, it’s a pity that this string is on WordPress.com servers so that there is no specific way to customize it.
Regarding the text customization, I’m a wordpress newbie, but currently the theme just outputs the excrept to the page; I figured there must be a hook/filter to just add the prepend the excrept to the content itself, maybe in “the_post” or “the_content” hook. Is that a definite no?
Actually, Stef answered this above but I’d like to iterate it a bit. Since the action of sending new post emails on our WordPress.com servers, your hooks/filters do not apply to these emails. In other words, there is no specific way to customize this too.
We hope that clarifies your concerns. Please let us know in case you need any further help!
