In reply to: [Membership Plugin - Kadence Memberships] Worst support everHi @alanjason
I’m sorry to hear about your experience. I’m not sure who told you that we’re getting rid of our restrict shortcode but I can assure you that is not the case.
We do have plans to turn our shortcodes into Gutenberg blocks and even Elementor widgets but we have no intention of removing the shortcodes themselves.

In reply to: [Membership Plugin - Kadence Memberships] Membership levels are now working@andrewledford1 oh, shoot I’m sorry to hear that.
Our pre-sales rep should have been a bit more clear. We do offer support to our free users here on WordPress.org and our Pro users get premium support.
If you navigate here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/restrict-content/ and submit a detailed description of your issue I’ll get one of our support folks to take care of you and get your membership levels issue sorted out.

In reply to: [Membership Plugin - Kadence Memberships] Abusive support staffI’m sorry you feel that way. Having reviewed the conversation myself, I can confidently say somebody was definitely abusive during the exchange, and it wasn’t our support people…
We do our best to help people but when you treat our support staff the way you did and put more focus on ranting and complaining than actually troubleshooting, it makes it very difficult to help you resolve your issue.
If you’re willing to actually work with us rather than berate and insult us, we’d be happy to take another stab at resolving your issue.
Let us know!

In reply to: [Membership Plugin - Kadence Memberships] Membership levels are now workingHi @andrewledford1 !
I wonder if you would be willing to submit a support request and see if we can help you out, rather than jumping straight to a 1 star review?
Nobody else is reporting this issue but I’m sure if you reach out to support we can help you get this figured out.
Looking forward to working with you!
-JamesGood news! We’ve finally got everything from the previous development team cleaned up end were able to push to the free version last night.
You should be able to update and see the payment descriptor in your payment settings.
Also going forward we should be able to push features to both pro and free at the same time.
I know this must be frustrating for you but please understand it’s not as simple as just updating some code.
Unfortunately we’ve been without a developer for awhile now and there were some things that were preventing us from pushing updates to the free version.
This delay has nothing to do with us trying to “promote the paid version”. We want nothing more than for this to be behind us so we can easily push changes to both the free and pro versions simultaneously.
I find it interesting that you’re supposedly losing thousands and thousands of dollars due to chargebacks but aren’t able to pay just $99 for the pro version. It sounds to me like you can’t afford NOT to upgrade.
Anyways, we were finally able to get the mess left over from the previous team cleaned up and will be pushing the update to the free version very soon. Hopefully tomorrow if all goes well.
It’s also worth noting that you’re literally the only person to ever complain about this, and yet we still took the time to add the feature.
I promise, we’re trying very hard but we only have one developer and he’s VERY busy between bug fixes, helping support with more complicated issues, and adding new features. We’re not a large company that can just bang out new features every other day, we’re a small and scrappy team working our butts off trying to make this plug-in as great as possible.
Negative reviews from impatient people doesn’t help and only serves to demotivate people. If you knew how hard our team was working I think you would be leaving 5 star reviews.
Please, bear with us. We’re trying.

Hi @obertscloud
We’re still working on getting this feature into the free version.
If you’re losing thousands of dollars in chargebacks, it would probably be a good idea to just upgrade to Pro for only $99.
Otherwise we’re hoping to have this feature in the free version within the next week or so.
Unfortunately that is a common limitation with Stripe.
Our free version charges a small fee with every transaction, and in some countries, Stripe doesn’t support this for some reason. =[
The only way around that is to upgrade to Restrict Content Pro because the Pro version doesn’t charge a fee.
I wish I had a better answer, this isn’t a sales pitch it’s just the way it is.
Hi @yosky !
Thanks for reaching out.
I think that the plugin is operating as intended with regards to the “Renew your membership” page because it’s a free membership, so there is no need to renew it.
As far as your second issue, I believe what you’re expecting to see is the option to change from one the current free membership to another free membership, but it’s only showing the paid memberships as options, is that correct?
If so, we’ve already fixed this in the Pro version, and are currently working to get this same fix pushed out to the free version, hopefully by next week (possibly the following week we’ll see how testing etc goes).
I’ll update you here once that’s available
-Jameswe pushed a release to the pro version today which includes the Stripe Descriptor.
There’s a few things we need to button up before we can push it to the free version, and we’re hoping to have that out next week, but possibly early the following week depending on how things go.
I appreciate your patience, the good news is we’ve tested it and it works in the Pro version so once we’re able to release the free version you should be all good to go!
I’ll update you here of course once it’s ready.
we’re testing the feature now, if testing goes well it should go out in an update later today
