I have the User-level plug in on. What I want to do is with that plug in, if you are not logged in and there is a post protected for users of a certain level you can’t see the post as normal but you get a teaser like in http://giles.shaxted.co.uk/Clip.jpg which says you should log in to see this post or emai me if you don’t have a log in … canthis be done ?

I was more thinking that having a thumbnail insterted which link to an exact fit pop up or expands the post to show a full image was a little bit more ingenuitive.
And as there already exists the correct code to do this in other php based blogware I was kinda hoping that someone who likes making plugins would like to hack something together ripping off all the other code.Forum: Fixing WordPress

It’s not what I am after though
I want te whole blog page to be viewable by al public.
however if i make a protected post, in the place where that post would normally be on the index page or archive, it will say the date and then title and then say this is a private post blah blah .. i have attached an image just to highlight what I want.
this is a b2 powered site, it has some hacks but i don’t believe this is a hack.
the Sat Nov. 20th is the private post the actual page is located

how can i have my post in the title or somewhere indicate where I am .. with the location name, what and where do i add. I don’t want anything but the Name Displayed which links to a new site with a map. I am using world locations.

In reply to: B2Evo ImporterIf you guys at wordpress can work this out there are loads of people on te B2evo forums who aren’t happy, it seems nice the whoel multiple blgo thing but most people use the multiple blog for friends list on the side or wishlists etc .. wordpress with it’s new page maker system now kicks it’s ass.
But I need to be able to bring my posts over and i don’t know how to do it in RSS and the B2evo2wp.php ain’t working right now .. so comon sparky .. someonewho knows what up and whats down take control .. please !!

I also tried the RSS import that said it worked .. but it didn’t … the trouble there is I have to import all blogs from my b2e site … and i only want the defualt one .. but no biggee … I so want wordpress now .. the lack of technical upgrading and desire to improve b2e is really disturbing.

In reply to: php commandsNuclearmoose or whatever you are get over yourself .. your layout is wordpress almost verbatim with a few images in it .. i understand what goes into devloping software .. and you’ll have to take my word for it.
But as well all know there are plenty of people here to test it before it’s released. so why not use them.
second, even though it is freeware, doesnt mean it shouldnt mean it shouldnt be made proffesionally .. the 0.72 worked great for me .. i know this product is remarkable.
peer pressure should never be given into .. and hackers can mess with it whenever it comes out .. the product should be made for end users, and so its the end result that needs to me made.
oh and btw .. i did remove the index.php and it still didnt work for me ..
im going to start from scratch and do 0.72 and then when 1.0 is as bug free as it will get i will upgrade, i just want to get a wordpress product working and customised for my site.

i dont know about better google listings as mine do very well anyway ..

I was looking at making my very own index page to remedy this,
I dont like the layout of the page one little bit and want it to look more like mine at http://www.shaxted.co.uk/giles/ I mean blogger is good but I want to get this working, and then this should be better, I had B2 working, I had 0.72 working, this 1.0 doesnt work for me AT ALL
I am pretty sure it all installed fine .. I will try wiping it all and starting over, see if that works. But I am not hopefull, the onlie config didnt even work for me .. I entered exactly the same info in the config file and it worked fine .. very disappointed with this 1.0 myself .. released in pre beta version !!
