In reply to: YouTube Plugin? For example, are there any plugins/widgets that let allow you to upload a videos in your admin panel somewhere, assign an ID to it, and then when you are typing the body content of a Page or Post, you can put some sort of tag like
[video1]
or something like that, and it “calls” the video into that spot of the content?

In reply to: Adding code to templateWould
“header.php”
be where we could add some code in order to place a logo at the top left of the page? I’m looking at doing some simple HTML code to just insert an image into the upper-left hand corner of the website which would just serve as the site’s logo for all of the pages on the website.
Could I grab one of the themes from this page:
http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/
and insert a piece of code into header.php like that, that would simply be an “Insert Image” piece of HTML code, and have it link to the homepage, and just serve as a logo that’d be there at the top left of every page?

In reply to: Virus going around lately on WordPress sites..Thank you, esmi; I will relay this information to them.
I’d be interested to know if anyone here can testify that such an attack recently happened to you or anyone you know..?
Ok, I am seeing how it automatically splits them into 20-at-a-time, that’s awesome.
Now, does anyone have any suggestions for creating the thumbnails for these images? In my WordPress Admin Dashboard, I have tried going to the “Manage Gallery” link under NextGEN Gallery, and when I try to use the “Create new thumbnails” actions for these various LARGE images I have, even when I try to do it one at a time for them, it gets hung up and doesn’t finish. I can *view* these Larger images, and it looks like they are THERE and whatnot, it just won’t do the thumbnails for some reason.
When I originally uploaded this batch of larger image files, it created a thumbnail for one of them:
http://bullriding-fanconnection.com/interviewsandevents/?page_id=284
But it got hung up and didn’t finish the rest. And like I say, now, it won’t do it even when I go back and try to individually do from the “Manage Gallery” area, with the “Create new thumbnails” function.

In reply to: Controlling who can "see" blog posts..?Understood; thank you, harmck.
So then, if you just set pages to be “password-protected” like that, is it then just up to the site administrator to make sure all users tat he wants to be able to get access to the password-protected post “get the password” somehow..? Is one of the useful ways just creating an e-mail list based on e-mails that users used to register for the WordPress blog as a way to create an e-mail list to e-mail passwords out to password-protected pages to users?
What are some of the reasons for registering for an ID on WordPress sites, instead of just always remaining “Anonymous” or “Guest”-like?

In reply to: Question on this free theme…Ok good, I was hoping it followed some sort of core/universal thing like that and wouldn’t be a theme-centric question, so that I could assume whatever the answer to my question is about the zbench theme could also be applied to the rest of the themes on the http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/ page, so that’s cool.
I mean, I’ve played around with menu’s and stuff before, and done a *little* bit of this before–I just wanted to ask because I would’ve hated to use up one of the 10 MySQL database spots I have for this website if I ended up putting a blog on there that didn’t allow me to do this.
AHH! This makes it look like I can define these things exactly like I want to, huh?
With maybe a couple of the buttons links to external pages, and a couple of the links’ being separate Categories on my blog, that hold two different kinds of posts? Awesome!
Thanks Chip and nisaiy!

In reply to: Question on this free theme…I’m just wanting to know if those buttons on the top of the site can be different “Categories” of blogs, basically.
Anyone know?

Now, would it be possible for me to make one of the links just an external link to another website, and two of them different categories for that blog there? These are the 3 buttons that I am wanting to have on that top menu:
– “Home” – External link to a .com address
– “Interviews” – First category of blogs on the blog website
– “Event Reviews” – Second category of blogs on the blog websiteIs that something I can configure?
