In reply to: What do you think?Heather, I just took a peek at it and here is my 2 cents…
Personally, I like how it looks at first glance. I like the layout and the white background. The photos and youtube seem to go well on the left and the navi on the right.
I like the background.. but I am not a fan of static background.. staying still while text scrolls over it. IMHO, If it were mine, I would take the dark grey background pic, lighten up the grey some (maybe to ebebeb) and make the background non repeat but move with the type… but that is just me. Or even lighten it up still if you are going to leave it static
The Red, Yellow and Blue bright in the logo on the top left really does not seem to go with the colour scheme you have with links being dark blue and the only other colour is grey and black.. Personally, I would settle for different shades of grey or one colour with different shades.. maybe like dark blue, a more faded one for the 2nd and even lighter for 3rd.. a smokey blue even.
The other thing that I noticed was the shadows under the text in the top right seem too dark compared to the shadows on the post tags.. I would lighten the shadows up Where it talks about Step into your life… in the logo.
The layout does look nice, I like how it is arranged. Very good job π
I don’t mean to be picky, what I mentioned is just my honest opinion. I like what you have, dont get me wrong. Those are just the things I would change if it were me.

In reply to: Bad Blog TrendsJust thought I would stick my 2 cents in .. not that its worth anything..
My biggest pet peeves with websites (This excludes personal sites. Personal sites are jsut that – Personal.):- Bad Navigation (Personally I like to get to every section from every page)
- Too many graphics and not enough content (Unless the site is designed to show off artwork or photographs)
- Broken Links (Goes without an explanation I think)
- Browser Specific Sites (Sites should work in all browsers, not accommodate just a percentage of the viewers and forget the rest)
- Sites with bad code (Can make them look different in different browsers)
- No contact or email address linked from every page (I don’t want to have to go back through 10 pages to find an email address about a page I am currently on)
- Misleading link titles or "Click here" (I Want to know where I am going if I click the link or hover over it)
- Slow loading sites (I am on 5.o DSL, but if I goto a dial up connection, I want to see it too. Goes back to working for some viewers but forgetting others)
My sites are far from perfect, I know this. What is perfect to one is far from perfect to another. That is a given. To each his / her own. I am not saying anyone’s site in particular, these are just my peeves in general about any site.
I learned a lot (that helped me) from Web Pages That Suck .. it showed me way to do things right by showing me things that I did not like to see in the end. It is also a great site that shows trends from year to year over how the internet developed.
Like I said.. my 2 cents might not be worth anything.. but I just thought I would give my opinon.

In reply to: Why Not Just Say “Permalinks Unavailable for IIS Hosting”?Personally, if I was using Windows and IIS and I couldn’t get it to work.. then I would install Apache on Windows and drop the IIS. Then it would work quicker than waiting till someone came up with a new vesion tailored just for IIS. I always had less problems with Apache on Windows that I have with IIS anyway.

In reply to: FireFox links not working ?Hmm that is strange! I would actually copy the info in the page, delete it, then rebuilt a new one.. but that is just me… or rename a good one and then edit it to have your info on it.
