What is the htaccess file .php .html ?

    How do I create this file ? Do I use notepad? I’m sorry but I’m still new at this. I’m trying to set up my permalinks

    make a file called

    .htaccess

    and that upload it

    there is nothing before the . and htaccess is after the dot (instead of php or html)

    use notepad

    You’ll probably find it difficult to create a file called .htaccess in either Notepad or Windows Explorer, so you may want to go ahead and call it .htaccess.txt, upload that, and then rename it to .htaccess once it’s on your server.
