Closing – not resolved but so many issues with this update have created one single thread instead of multitude for each issue: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/multitude-of-issues-following-recent-jetpack-updates?replies=0#post-8613634
Update: Have just done an update of the fix Jetpack just put out – this issue has manifested again. Also keeps activating “Single Sign On” and locking me out of my own site.
Still not working. Have just updated and still getting issue: “Jetpack: [auth_failed] Authorization header was malformed”
Le sigh!
I followed the edit to the PHP, but not having the same luck – it will not connect and I am still getting error messages. The only thank full thing is I have permission to posts again – which as the site admin has been VERY frustrating.
Will wait on the fix.
Also getting errors trying to run a debug as it keeps saying “site not communicating” – can not change this.
I appreciate the Jetpack guys are getting a fix in but this has been one of the biggest update headaches for a long time with multiple errors and issues.
Update: I used the PHP fix posted on another thread which has allowed me to do an update – however not fixed Twitter connection issues.
Been a lot of errors with this update. Hopefully the fix will be in place soon
Hello kmessinger without trying across ungrateful for the help, I did mention in my previous thread which was shut down, I have not deleted anything. Which is why when I looked at the changelog again for this plugin, I remembered the plugin maker saying they had deleted a file. They did not say what so I am curious to know what that is.
I have access to my WordPress backend but not the file manager at the host. This I am hoping to resolve this weekend.
Hi there – the point is, I’m still not sure if it is an issue with this plugin – I have simply started a topic with the plugin maker as I am curious. I’m looking for wider WP support as I am not 100% sure. I also thought it prudent to keep the two topics as WP troubleshooting can not necessarily answer questions this plugin maker can, but at the same time if it is not this plugin, the other topic remains valid.
I disagree with you closing the topic and would ask you to reconsider. I understand you are trying to stop duplicates but in this case both subjects stand.

In reply to: Visual Editor Tab not working at allHi Kmessenger
Sorry for the late reply – in UK, so had finished for day when your reply came through.
Thank you for the help BTW, it is appreciated.
I can assure you I have not deleted any files myself from the back end of the site. A part of me is wondering if a recent plugin has done this. I use WP Canvas Shortcakes. And in their changelog of Version 1.86, it says (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wc-shortcodes/changelog/):
“removed unused file
updated post js”I’m wondering a little if it is possible they did something.
I’m going to try and do the HT access change as mentioned by yourself – just found another issue – the accountant for my client merged two back-end accounts and has locked me out of the FTP and File Manager (it never rains but it pours).
I’m not going to put this to resolved until I can get that access and check both suggestions. I will get back to you when I know more.

In reply to: Visual Editor Tab not working at allThird attempt at trying this answer due to the server bugging out when I post.
I have the latest version. It is on Auto Update. Although the issue is not being noted by “thousands” I think there are enough posts from such a short period that it must make WP wonder if there is something going on.
I understand about the site link – my client is a known name and brand – protecting their ID simply.
Here is the code I get on Safari Developer Error Log (website url removed)

In reply to: 4.5.2 editing issuesAlso having issue – as it appears others are. Started my own ticket but want to show solidarity to the OP. Did everything James has referred to

In reply to: Visual Editor Tab not working at allHard to give a URL for the site due to the nature of the client. Please believe me not trying to be unhelpful. But as I have stated also I am not the only one – I have highlighted a number of people also experiencing the issue – different sites, which will have different themes, different plugins and all experiencing same issue which has occurred over the past 48 hours.
BTW, no other member who raised the issue in the threads I highlighted gave their website either. Honestly I’m not trying to be awkward – client is sensitive.

In reply to: Page editor not displaying textI agree the OP should go through the process, I just wanted to highlight that I do not think this an isolated incident and believe it is affecting more users than just a couple.
I wrote my own ticket (am not attempting to hijack this thread), because I wanted to highlight my own issue and because I wanted to show the links to various other threads where other have had the same issue over the past day or so – maybe it can be of help to the support team to see if there is a pattern or something that needs looking at wider: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/visual-editor-tab-not-working-at-all?replies=1#post-8505123

In reply to: Page editor not displaying text@sterndata – this appears to be more of an issue than isolated to a single user – I am currently writing my own ticket and have noticed a number of people saying the same thing in the forums over the past 24 hours or more (and I did all of the above too)

In reply to: [News Bar Plus] Getting error sometimesI had a resolve for this a few threads back but it appears the issue is happening again. Help from the developer would be great.
Looks like I’m going to have to download an older version for now to make this work again. Such a shame – hope gets fixed son
