    An update:

As there has been (and I do appreciate it is the holidays so it may take a little longer to get back to support issues) no support help right now, I have rolled back the plugin to version 1.4.2. The issues I have had with the image alignment response has been negated and I can now align images again.

I do ask however that this is still looked at as a matter of urgency once the team comes back as I can not have an outdated plugin sitting on my clients sites as you know, this causes security issues with the sites and other vulnerabilities.

Also as an aside, trying to add a background image is also not always responding as it should. Image does not always respond to being added.

Hi @plasmicsteve I had a similar issue but it was actually a setting on my browser and not the theme. Check your browser preferences for automatic media playing settings – I had that set to deny beforehand on my browser and that was blocking the header video from playing. Changing it to allow reversed that and the video plays well now.

    Hope that helps.

Hi @vanyukov – thank you for the update, it is appreciated. It had just been a while since there had been an update to this issue since my initial post, so hopefully you can understand the need for a follow-up.

But, as I said in my post over the weekend “Absolutely understand some updates can take time….Appreciate any news as to where you guys are in terms of an update to fix this error.”

So all good, just glad to have an update. 😉

Also I will give that “fix” a go over the next day or so (just getting back into work after some holiday time). Will let you know if that sorts he issue for the time being.

Thank you again for the update.

@missfrosty1 – yes it’s been a while. Absolutely understand some updates can take time.

@vanyukov do we have an update on this? It’s been a month since it was brought up – not able to do anything but remove the old cache – all revisions etc can not be cleared without the error happening. Appreciate any news as to where you guys are in terms of an update to fix this error. Thank you in advance.

    Hi @vanyukov

Sorry about that. I did have a little look but couldn’t find anything specific to the issue before I posted. Good to hear that the issue is being worked on for the next update though.

    Mucha appreciated.

Also had this issue. Was driving me nuts and it was just by chance I saw this post today. I’ve manually updated the plugin (mine was set at version 10.2 for DCL). Now I have 11 updates to make to plugins that were being blocked from showing updates.

As @danielmcclure and @dano23 have both said, manually update the plugin via your FTP and it will clear the block that the DCL plugin was causing to other plugins.

Thanks both for highlighting this – no longer having to pull my hair out.

@organicthemes So finally done the update to the new version of Music Lite and thank you – it’s fixed the issues (and there was no reoccurrence of the menu issue either).

I really appreciate your help. Happy to mark this one as resolved! Thanks again!

Hi @organicthemes I really appreciate the reply back (please extend my thanks to Emily BTW).

    Cool username btw!

Thanks. I’m a Marilyn Manson fan – comes from my days on the forums and a nickname that was given to be around the Arma-goddamn-MF-geddon single a few years ago.

I’ve pushed an update to the theme (1.3.4) which should address the text color issue within the classic editor. Additionally, it should fix the text color issue for the excerpt within the slideshow widget as well.

Ah that is brilliant on both fronts. I will look out for the update and do so as soon as it comes through. If there are any ongoing issues I will drop a message back on this forum.

Regarding the menu issue, I’m not sure what would have caused the issue as you described. I can see nothing in the theme code that would have caused this with the previous update.

I did find it very puzzling that as soon as I did the theme update it seemed to ignore the chosen menu I had created and instead defaulted to showing all pages on the menu section. Luckily I figured out that it just needed the menu section to read that dropdown choice and saved again.

if you updated the theme from a significantly older version, there were older updates that improved the menu, and maybe it was just a matter of clearing your browser cache.

I do update the themes when a new ones comes through so I was updating from the previous version. However if it does happen again, at least I now know the fix.

And I just want to say thank you. As I mentioned to Emily on chat support, this is a great theme and I’ve not until the past two updates had any issues with it. And it’s been a great theme for my client, really bringing us forward in terms of functionality and design.

    @azaozz

EDIT: Okay something funky is going on. I just deleted the Classic Editor plugin and reinstalled and now it is saying 1.4 even though I did update when the latest update came (I’m pretty fast on doing this to make sure everything on the site is up-to-date) – however it has not sorted the issue.

Also for some reason a more detailed post I made before making this upload is currently held for moderation. No idea why as it contains no lins and just block quoted text to answer your points raised.

Hum, weird, my comment is being held for moderation. No links in the post, can’t understand why.

@azaozz thank you for your reply. Sorry for my delay, have been dealing with some things outside of work.

    1)

The problems you’re experiencing aren’t with the Classic Editor plugin. They are with the classic editor in core.

Well I can’t be sure since these issues started after the latest update. And as mentioned the only reason why I am asking for support outside the main forum is to protect my client. My client is known and I am trying to make sure people don’t see a possible vulnerability on the site and exploit. Unfortunately it seems without me putting the site URL out there, I can not get a second pair of eyes on the site just in case you as one of the plugin developers could help me see something I may be missing. I can not compromise my client privacy by putting his site URL info here. But I do need a second pair of eyes on this. I do understand your point though, but it puts me in a bind if there is no support because I can not give the URL as others can do which as you know, makes your job a lot easier to help identify the issue.

    2)

If you’re maintaining a large site, especially if it is a commercial site (i.e. makes some money) it is imperative to invest in some kind of “testing and deployment system” for core/plugins/themes updates and changes.

I understand this but there is also a lot of assumptions. My clients site is a known artist but is paid for by the artist. A lot is done to make sure precautions are taken before any update but we are not a big corporation. I am working on something in the background because of this to mirror the site in terms of theme and plugins to test. However this will take a little time.

    3)

What’s puzzling in your case is the lack of JS errors in the browser console. It sounds like TinyMCE is not loading (white text in a textarea) but then there should be at least one JS error that prevents it from loading…

My thoughts too. I have not deleted any necessary files and no files such as this have been accidentally quarantined by our anti-virus set-up. All I can reiterate is all this started when the last update that came through to the site happened.

    4)

Also, any reason you’re using Classic Editor 1.3 and not 1.4? 1.3 should probably work fine but it hasn’t been tested in WP 5.1.

This is a puzzle to me. 1.4 has not come through as an update to my clients site. The last one was 1.3 and I had not looked there had been another update via the plugin page here on the repository. I am going to attempt to download the new version and try uploading that in the hope it may help resolve the issue. I will get back to you.

@azaozz – before I go down a lengthy process, do you have a support email address/support form I can contact?

For example, my clients site uses the Jetpack plugin and they have a system where if additional support is needed in regards to plugin issues, especially for those who can not disclose the site having issues on a public forum, they provide a support contact form and will provide support that way, where I can then disclose the site in question.

The reason I ask, is our site is big. I want to do what I can to help you help me diagnose the issue but I also wonder if an extra pair of eyes will help BEFORE I go down this time consuming process of replicating the site (sans uploads) and then enable/disable plugins by hand.

If an email address/ support form can be provided and I can then disclose the site in question this may help in case you see something I am missing. If after looking yourself and can not see an issue I am then willing to create a duplicate site to test the plugins, but I would like to try giving you a look at the URL just in case this allows you to see something of use.

    Thank you.

@azaozz – just seeing if there have been further developments on this.

I’ve tried your suggestions in your stickyed thread: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/common-classic-editor-errors-and-how-to-fix-them/

    1) Cleaned out browser cache completely and tried a new browser.
    2) Theme is regularly updated. Can find no one else using the them I am with same issues (plus with the different people on this support forum experiencing issues, I would say we all aren’t using the same theme, and this in itself then suggest a wider problem.
    3) I’ve pasted any errors I’ve found following your suggestions in this thread.
    4) ‘Standard’ troubleshooting becomes hard to do when the site is needed to be online without interruption due to major announcements from my client.

I appreciate these things are hard to ascertain but this is becoming a major headache, and I’m not the only person on here experiencing these issues. I appreciate you guys looking into this and just hope a resolve can come. I have a big new section to be building and this is delaying me getting this part of my clients project off the ground.

    Thank you
