  • @imthedevil I agree. I’ve tried completely cleaning out the cache on my browser. I’ve also tried a new browser. It’s becoming a pain….

@azaozz – thank you for the reply.

Can you try looking in the “network” tab in browser tools, find the URL to tinymce.min.js or wp-tinymce.js, then load it in the browser directly. You should see the TinyMCE version at the top and it should be 4.9.2 (2018-12-17). If not, perhaps the WP upgrade has failed or you are using cached/outdated scripts.

I just had a check and have the file: wp-includes/js/tinymce/tinymce.min.js. All appears fine:

    // 4.9.2 (2018-12-17)

The template I’m using is maintained by the theme makers. I also make sure to keep all plugins etc updated. Really stumped by this.

    @babyewok

I disabled visual editor in my profile, saved then re-enabled it and saved et voila! All working again!

I gave that a go, and didn’t work for me sadly. Glad it was able to solve your issues.

Sadly my issue still remains (I’ve been directed to look at this thread by the plugin author). And I do not and nor ever had the OneSignal plugin.

@azaozz I also did a check in my browser tools and check the console and got the following errors:

WebSocket connection to 'wss://public-api.wordpress.com/pinghub/wpcom/me/newest-note-data' failed: Unexpected response code: 403

    and

[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) (skin.min.css.map, line 0)

Hope that is of some help. I’ve not removed any CSS files and this has come with the latest update to Classic Editor. I am also up to date with all WordPress updates.

Hi @dannyogolo – tried that, also made sure cache was cleared from the site and tried a different browser. Issue is still there.

Hello @azaozz – I took a look at that thread and I do not have the plugin that is mentioned in that thread. I have also cleared both the cache from the site and my browser and this has not resolved the issue.

Therefore further help is needed. As mentioned in my initial post, I can not on a public forum, disclose my clients site that is being affected but am happy to liaise in private if that helps. Not to try and subvert the support forum, but to protect my client.

    Thank you.

Also having issues with the visual editor using the Classic Editor Plugin Version 1.3 (site running WordPress version 5.1). No issues until the latest update and now the visual editor all the writing is in white so I can’t see it to make amendments or to write new posts. It makes it hard for me to use the Shortcodes plugin I use on my clients site to build complex pages.

No issues until I updated to this. Please look at this and others complaints as this is making it excruciating to put together pages for a project I am working on for a client on his site.

I can not use the new block editor to make changes (it’s bloody horrible).

    Thank you

Hi @jeherve yep seems like there is a problem with Safari so am logging in through Chrome. Will send an email in a sec. Thank you.

EDIT: Email has gone in. Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Actually can’t use the form. Despite being logged in (and despite twice trying to re-log in using the prompt at the bottom of the support contact page) it won’t “log” me in and as such there is no form showing on the contact support page.

PS: Only choice right now is to turn off lazy load until a fix can be found.

Also having same issue. Just updated to Version 6.6.1 and Lazy Loads is no longer showing images on the sidebar of my site. I will send a message through the contact form to discuss this to protect my client.

    Hi Stef @erania-pinnera

So happy to report things are now as they should be on client no.1’s site.

Still a little nervous about activating the update on my second clients site but at least I know now, if it does do the same, I’m more aware of what has gone haywire and can fix it a lot easier.

    Hi Stef @erania-pinnera

    A follow-up.

I think I may have figured this. I started to do a debug and realised that when I saw the bit on the initial page where it says: “Access the full list of Jetpack modules available on your site.” and upon clicking, that as the other settings had reset so had all the activations for the complete list of modules. So I’ve turned them back on and I can see everything again.

I do think something needs looking at just in case especially considering the fact that the update to 6.4 caused a complete reset of all settings – happy to help privately on that if you need.

I will keep this open until I’m sure this as been resolved.

Hi Stef @erania-pinnera thank you for the reply.

I’ve updated to 6.4.1 and this has not helped. The only good thing was it did not reset the Jetpack settings I had to reset yesterday.

In the Widget area, many of the specialist Jetpack widgets are not there at all. I’ve done a comparison between the client who’s Jetpack I updated and the client who’s Jetpack I have not because of the issues I have with client no.1. Here’s a list of what is missing from client no.1 (please note I’ve also done a side by side comparison of the settings on both clients sites and I can not see that I have left out or not turned something on):

    Missing:
    Authors (Jetpack)
    Blog Stats (Jetpack)
    Blog Subscriptions (Jetpack)
    Contact Info & Map (Jetpack)
    Cookies & Consent Banner (Jetpack)
    Display WordPress Posts (Jetpack)
    Facebook Page Plugin (Jetpack)
    Facebook Page Plugin (Jetpack)
    Flickr (Jetpack)
    Goodreads (Jetpack)
    Google _ Badge (Jetpack)
    Google Translate (Jetpack)
    Gravatar Profile (Jetpack)
    Internet Defense League (Jetpack)
    MailChimp Subscriber Popup (Jetpack)
    Milestone (Jetpack)
    My Community (Jetpack)
    RSS Links (Jetpack)
    Social Icons (Jetpack)
    Top Posts & Pages (Jetpack)
    Twitter Timeline (Jetpack)
    Upcoming Events (Jetpack)

I think the idea is clear here. Anything that is a Jetpack Widget is now missing. Obviously I don’t use all of these widgets but there are a few I do because of the ease of use via Jetpack. Spent a horrible amount of time yesterday trying to get the new Facebook Widget working on my site (direct from FB) – it’s a horrible and clunky way of doing social media.

I will send an email to you re this to give you my clients website address – I’m grateful for you guys respecting this privacy.

It’s sad as for the most part I rarely get issues with Jetpack, but this is very weird and obviously something has gone wrong for it to be eliminating things.

I am going to send the debug info too.

Fingers crossed this can get fixed soon.

    1- Possible, but not sure.

2- Yes, have the latest version running. Although one of the three has remained on the previous version until I know what the issue is.

    3- On it.

Hi @fclaussen, thanks for getting back to me.

1). It’s something I’m about 90% sure on. All three of the sites I am working on, have had this issue at one point or the other since 2.06, and at the moment, two of them are very much with this issue. There are slight differences to the sites, in terms of protection plugins for the sites and one being a store running Woocommerce and the others being straight forward websites. It does seem to occur with updates to this plugin or around it, and prior to having this plugin on the sites, I have never had this issue. Is there a debugger I can run on the sites relating to your plugin to try and narrow this issue down?

    2) The amount of time it takes for the reconsent spinning wheel makes more sense now. Yes my sites have a lot of users, as they are official sites for known musicians, however since the last couple of updates, this is not showing at all at the top of my Privacy page when I do an edit.

    3) I can try and give a little time to help, however I am probably going to be offline in about 45 mins, but if I can help, happy to do so.
