thank you for the examples. We will implement this feature soon. However we will not provide styling. There are many different users with many different style tastes. While theme authors will probably style core blocks with their themes we do not expect them to provide custom gutenslider styles. Next year however we are planning to provide lots of style templates for our slider.
That said, we can however tell you the required css, as soon as we implemented default captions, to achieve that looks you get from gallery / image.
Hey @bobeaston,
if this is a feature request, how would you like it to be implemented, considering some users don’t want captions. While others want different captions? Ideas? Set the captions AS a default?

Hey @acuaron,
that is absolutely possible. On each slide, set the vertical align to bottom in the block toolbar settings and then in the inspector controls on the right of the slider, set the bottom and left margin to your desired values.

@bloke the version 4.2 offers an adaptive height option that should close this issue.
