    We maintain a list of developers we have had good experience with on our main site.

    There is a link on our sites homepage titled “Documentation” I would start there for basic config and setup

    Regarding upgrades. I always advise that a live functional site should not be directly upgraded. I prefer to do all upgrades on a clone of the site. I tend to do my upgrades offline using a clone made using Backup Buddy and a application called Mamp. http://www.mamp.info/en/

    Upgrading a live store is NEVER recommended.

    At this time this provides the details for installation and setup. Where possible there are images and videos.

    @alkalinewaterplus the current version is 3.8.14.3 if you are truly using something numbered 3.14 then either someone tampered with your install or someone has purposely altered your version.

    No… but be sure your products have weights and dimensions set. If you are still not getting rates properly you should check to make sure your account settings for USPS are correct. If I recall correctly there is a step with USPS to fully activate your account. You may want to check with USPS support to me certain the account is activated properly.

    Sigh… it seems PayPal support is behind the news… I finally have a reply from them regardless that the problem has been resolved.

    I will post the reply here because I find it amusing in some strange way. Maybe in another 48 hours I’ll have some sort of official answer?

    @wyckliffe have you resolved your download issue?

    @toshi Yoshida I always do my upgrades in steps… I hit both the bottom and top of each major release. This is my personal choice. Mainly out of residual fears from ancient versions. Be sure you watch for database updates along the way.

    You don’t need to unzip and ftp you can use the WordPress plugin upload page it will replace each version.

    If you are using gold cart I would disable that until all WPeC updates are complete and then grab the latest version of gold cart.

    Test your upgraded store with only store plugins activated and with a default wordpress theme such as 2012 enabled. (be aware you may need to clear the store template cache. You can do this at

    SETTINGS > STORE > PRESENTATION Click “Flush Theme Cache”

    For good measure I typically also refresh my permalinks along the way a few times as well.

    Great that you are testing on a clone first so many people do these upgrades to a fully working LIVE shop… NEVER a good idea. You don’t mess with a functional live store 😉

    @trouble-buster thanks for that info… I have not heard from Paypal at all yet only auto replies and nonsense.

    I understand things happen they are bound to come up from time to time. It happens to the best of us.

    I also understand it’s frustrating for users. I’d like to thank you for your patience while Paypal sorts this out. If there is anything we can do to help resolve it faster I assure you we will.

    As @hbdecals says… “we’re are paypal’s mercy” at this point.

    Will post back if I hear anything new.

    Thanks 😉

    @hbdecals

    I assume they are either not fully aware of the issue at normal support level or could be covering their ass no idea.

    But multiple shops of different versions and platforms don’t just stop working all on their own. So it has to be their end.

    It would make sense if it were a specific version of the plugin or a specific change people have in common.

    So for now all I can do is wait to hear from PayPal

    Edward

    (@edwardinstinct)

    Judging from the posts here it’s not related to the plugin since it’s different versions and different shops that people are posting about. They wouldn’t all stop working at the same time unless something changed on the paypal side.

    A quick search does seem to indicate this is a problem on the paypal side of things. Though PayPal is being a bit quiet about it directly.

    let me make sure I am reading clearly…

    You are saying a previous version of this exact same store loaded all the products and the current version does not.

    Is the previous store also using the current version of wordpress or a previous version of wordpress?

    The only other thing that comes to mind is the time PHP is given to execute. There should not be any change that I am aware of that would stop a store from loading the products the same as in previous versions.

    Are you positive they are the same in every way other than the updated WPeC plugin?

    What was the previous version you had in stalled so that I may try comparing.

    If possible could you do an export of your database and send it to me through dropbox?

    Regards
    Edward

    @njbebop

    It appears the current version is not able to handle over 6000 products in the product admin page

    There is no physical limit what so ever within the plugin to handle any number of products. Theoretically you could have 20,000 so long as you have the resources available to allow that process to run.

    If you have 6000 products you really will need to increase the memory available to PHP and wordpress to minimally 512M

    The following is suggested how to handle this but you may need to contact your hosting provider

    If you have access to PHP.ini file, change the line in PHP.ini
    memory_limit = 512M ;

    If you don’t have access to PHP.ini try adding this to an .htaccess file:
    php_value memory_limit 512M

    The above may not work depending on how the server is configured and you may be required to contact your hosting provider to make this change.

    Next you need to let WordPress know that that memory is available to use.
    Add the following in wp-config.php

    define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M');

    Be advised adding this to the config will not work if the server is not providing that memory to PHP in the first place.

    Regards
    Edward
