Hey all – we just pushed 2.2.9. When folks get a chance, can you update and confirm whether your issues are fixed?

This removes a line of code that was causing some rending issues with some themes, and also some fatal errors under very specific conditions we couldn’t duplicate.

As far as we know, it will not fix those seeing question marks or odd characters. If you update and still see those characters, we still don’t have access to any single site with the issue. So if you could contact us at support@imagely.com with your site url and, ideally, login credentials, that would help us resolve your issue.

@glorialchemica – we’re not able to duplicate this ourselves. But we did just push a release in the last 5 minutes (2.2.9) that fixes some other issues from 2.2.8. Can you update when you get a chance and confirm whether this issue is fixed?

Follow up question – those of you with ????? showing, are you all using internationalization/localization? That is, are your sites in any language other than English?

Hey all – just a quick note that we’ll be trying to push a fix for this in the next hour.

We hate seeing this kind of thing on an update. One point I’ll emphasize again is that we’re not able to duplicate this ourselves, even with the themes mentioned here. So whatever the issue is, it’s happening in some specific conditions we can’t identify.

Regardless, removing line 273 (as in the fix you are linking to above) fixes it, and we’re confident we can remove that line without creating new issues. So we’re just going to push that out.

We’ll be pushing that fix shortly. For those with ??? or Mandarin characters, being displayed, could one of you email us at support@imagely.com, and if open to it, share your site’s login data so we can see the issue?

One important point I want to emphasize: our entire team is unable to duplicate any of the issues in this or related threads. We have five people trying all kinds of things. So whatever is going on here, it’s happening in some kind of very specific conditions that we haven’t yet identified.

For now, we just know that removing line 273 seems to resolve many issues, so we’re going to do that. But it won’t affect ??? or odd characters showing. For that, we still haven’t been able to duplicate, and haven’t gotten access to a site that has the issue so we can fix it.

I’ll update again if there are changes.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t fix the ????? issue. And right now, since we can’t duplicate that issue, we can’t fix it and don’t have access to a site with the issue, we’re having a hard time fixing it.
