In reply to: Is it possible to have 2 wordpresses?Right. The cookie issue comes into play when you have two WP installs under the same subdomain, and one is installed in a subdirectory of the other. This is fixed in CVS. But it shouldn’t be a problem if each install is in a separate subdomain, or if they are installed in sibling directories (e.g. ‘/root/wp1’ and ‘/root/wp2’).

In reply to: problems with cvs installI don’t think that the database changes are integrated into the install script yet. You probably just need to run the wp-admin/upgrade-072-to-073.php script.

In reply to: harsh login problems with different accounts on sahuphtur: weird. Using Moz or IE6 (Windows) I don’t have a problem like that. I assume you’ve tried wiping out your cookies. You could try the CVS code and see if it makes a difference for you.
southerngal: how did you patch your files? Did you use a CVS program to fetch the code, or did you download via the SourceForge WebCVS interface, or what? I have the current CVS code running on my server just fine, so I’m trying to figure out why it would be giving you all those errors.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Picture by post?BTW, this technique is described in the readme. Search for ‘the_author_login()’.

In reply to: Step no. 5 installationI’ve modified the readme to spell out that the location of the install file is ‘wp-admin/wp-install.php’. This should make it more clear in case people are printing out the readme and following instructions from the printout, rather than clicking the link online. I also made a few other minor corrections that I spotted while I was in there.
The new version is in CVS.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: depricated tags?And are you using WordPress 0.72 or 0.71? I thought that all of the pass-by-reference calls were eliminated in 0.72.

In reply to: db password hashesThere’s a sort of backwards md5 functionality, in case you didn’t know….
The password is still stored in the db in plaintext. But you can enter your password as ‘md5:[hashvalue]’ (e.g. ‘md5:08023c5e326c8682858dd3652535b397’) in the login form, and the plaintext won’t get sent over the wire or stored in your login cookie.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: harsh login problems with different accounts on sahuphtur, are you trying to login to two separate WP installations? If so, that problem has been fixed in CVS.
If you’re having trouble switching profiles within a *single* instance of WP, that would be odd. I just tested logging out of one profile, logging in as another, and then back again, and it all worked as it should. So if that’s the problem, it might be helpful to know what browser and platform you use.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Multiple WordPresses cause trouble logging in?Yes, I put in some patches a few days ago to deal with that problem. It’s in CVS π

In reply to: To Alex K: # posts in month/categoryWell, an easier way would be a leave b2template.functions.php alone, and just change the tags in your template.
BTW, I’ve updated the function documentionation for get_archives(), dropdown_cats(), and list_cats() in the CVS version of readme.htmlForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: .htaccess won’t let me access admin sectionA pointer for those who don’t want to wait for a WordPress hack specifically for this:
RE_INVIGORATE // Data Archiving Services
Sign up for an account, insert a tiny snippet of Javascript into your template, and voila, you get tons of useful stats for your site.
And it’s open source, so if you don’t want to sign up for anything, you could download the code and run it on your own server.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: To Alex K: # posts in month/categoryThere’s no hack needed. Support is already built into the system:
<?php list_cats(1,'All','ID','asc','',true,0,1,1); ?>
The next-to-last1turns on the counts
<?php get_archives(”,”,’html’,”,”,1); ?>
The last1turns on the counts
We need to update the readme to reflect the new options…
