Although srikat’s reply addresses the text widget issue, I do not see how it resolves the page widget issue. I am also searching for a way to add additional page widgets.
Does anyone have a solution?

This is an addition to my question and explanation – The Page “root” – Artist Gallery – is used in the sidebar. I want another Page “root” that I can call “Exhibits” in the side bar. Do I need to insert (edit) some kind of code in the Page Template of the template I am using? If so, please tell the code to use and where to insert. Thank you for your help.
