In reply to: [Document Gallery] Thumbnails Not GeneratingI would also remind you that this plugin is developed for free as a service to the WordPress community. I have spent thousands of hours of my free time developing it with no cost to anyone, so I expect a bit of respect if you want support.

In reply to: [Document Gallery] Thumbnails Not GeneratingAmy,
If you actually want help you are going to need to be more helpful than to say “a bunch of error messages”. Can you tell me what the error messages are, please.
PDF thumbnail generation is reliant of your server to have certain utilities installed. If they are not or if they are incorrectly configured then there is nothing that DG can do so without knowing what errors your system is experiencing there is no way to know whether a downgrade would do you any good.

In reply to: [Document Gallery] Thumbnails have different widthThe sizing is done proportionally and your documents are all different heights, thereby forcing the widths to also be different. If you go to
Dashboard -> Settings -> Document Galleryyou can mess with the bounding box being used to get things scaled how you want. If you leave the width as is and set the height for some very large number (maybe 9999, for example) you should get them all the same width, but then they’ll all be varying heights.-Dan

In reply to: [Document Gallery] Thumbnails Not GeneratingHi Amy,
If purge your thumbnail cache (select all in Thumbnails tab, then delete), then enable logging under the Advanced tab, then re-visit where you are using the PDFs, what is logged in the logging tab?

In reply to: [Document Gallery] Connection IssuesAll,
Just following up on this. I finally got through to HG after about 3 hrs combined waiting on a real person. They have now opened a ticket to investigate the issue.
Once I hear more I’ll post any updates I get.

In reply to: [Document Gallery] Connection IssuesThanks for the update, penofjen.
If that’s the case, I’ll keep trying to get in contact with enough knowledge at HG to be helpful in this matter. I tried over the weekend and they hung up on me π

In reply to: [Document Gallery] Pagination not workingHi fashionon,
I’m not able to reproduce this on a test system. Can you please try disabling all plugins except for DG and switching to a default theme and check whether the issue is resolved?
Also, if you can tell me which browser you are using that would be helpful.

I’m closing this thread as it’s being addressed over here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/connection-issues-2.

In reply to: [Document Gallery] Connection IssuesAll, just to give an update on this. I am now thinking that this is most likely an issue on HostGator’s end so I’m working through their support hierarchy to try and verify that. I’ll keep everyone posted.
As a work around, if you need DG to be working now, I recommend downgrading to
4.0, which should not have this issue. The zip containing4.0is available here. To install, simply uninstall DG, then on the plugins “Add New” window, upload the zip.Thank you all for your patience in this matter!

Hi Rich,
On a related topic. Before you do a downgrade, would you mind sending me credentials to take a look from the inside at your WordPress install? You can send them via email here (http://danrossiter.org/contact).
-Dan
Hi Rich,
We are investigating this, but if you need a short term solution my recommendation is to downgrade to DG version 4.0 (https://github.com/thenadz/document-gallery/archive/4.0.zip). If that doesn’t work, you can find the various other versions here (https://github.com/thenadz/document-gallery/releases)).
The zip file can simply be uploaded to your WordPress install.

Hi Philip,
We are not doing anything related to SSL certs.
That said, which version of DG were you using? 4.1.10 had an HTTP bug related to an incorrectly documented WordPress core filter that is addressed in 4.1.11. We’re still investigating some other issues (see here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/connection-issues-2), but if you have not tried 4.1.11 then that should be your first step.

In reply to: [Document Gallery] Fatal ErrorHi Todd,
If you disable all plugins except Document Gallery and switch to a default theme does the problem go away?
