In reply to: [Document Gallery] Connection IssuesHey Rick,
The change set in the release is here: https://github.com/thenadz/document-gallery/commit/cd70a165b43f14552e016d9f4f27bc11923210d1.
I’ve been very swamped with work the past month or so, but will try to find time to develop some test code to identify what else may be going wrong. One thing you might try as a short term fix is commenting out the add filter call for “allowed_http_origin” at the top of that file in the change set, though that is by no means a long term solution.

In reply to: [Document Gallery] Connection IssuesHi All,
I heard back from Jetpack support today and they had information that allowed me to fix the issue in DG. If you update to the latest release you should find that the issue is resolved now, though don’t hesitate to let me know if you continue to experience any issues.

Hi Rich,
I’m copying the contents of your email here for continuity:
I recently upgraded to Document Gallery 4.1.10 and am needing to completely redo the “Resources” page (currently in draft mode while we fix it up). But I’ve been having problems getting Document Gallery to load the documents.
For instance, when I select two documents that I recently added as media and click “create document gallery” on the left column and then click the blue box “create a new document gallery”, the next page only shows an option to “Insert Document Gallery” with “Attachment Details” at the top of the right column. I don’t see an option for allowing “Document Gallery Settings”.
Then when I select “Insert Document Gallery”, nothing shows up on the page.
Based on what I understand from your emailed question, I think I may understand the issue you’re reporting.
- Click “Insert Media”
- Click “Create Document Gallery” in left bar
- Select document(s) to be included in gallery
- Click “Create a new Document Gallery” in the bottom right
- And here’s the bug: the right bar does not have the “Document Gallery Settings” section
Is that correct? If so, I need a few bits of information.
- Can you tell me what browser you are using?
- Can you please try disabling all plugins except Document Gallery and switching to a default theme. After doing this, is the issue resolved?

In reply to: [Document Gallery] Connection IssuesHi All,
Just following up on this. I’ve asked Jetpack’s support to weigh in on this as I’m baffled. I’ll follow up once I hear back from the JP team.
Thanks for your patience,
DanI’m sorry, I don’t understand the question. Can you please clarify what you are trying to do and what is not working as expected?

In reply to: [Document Gallery] PDF Thumbnails replaced by PDF iconSo that message indicates that upon DG installation the Ghostscript path was auto-detected, but you mentioned you thought the host might have moved the Ghostscript install. If that’s the case then you need to manually update the location where Ghostscript can be found.
The first thing you want to do is verify that there is actually a Ghostscript install at the location DG is looking (
/usr/bin/gs).-Dan

In reply to: [Document Gallery] PDF Thumbnails replaced by PDF iconHi,
Yes, Ghostscript moving would absolutely result in GS generation failing if the DG-configured path is not updated accordingly. Can you verify that the GS path (under
Dashboard -> Settings -> Document Gallery -> Advancedpoints to an actual file? If it does not, you’ll need to update accordingly in order for things to begin working again.-Dan

In reply to: [Document Gallery] RESPONSIVE ???Hi giuliosensi,
The DG layout is already responsive to a degree. If you want to further customize output styling to match your layout you can always include custom styling in the “Custom CSS” textbox under
Dashboard -> Settings -> Document Gallery.-Dan

In reply to: [Document Gallery] Connection IssuesJust want to let you two know I have not forgotten about this. My full-time job has been consuming most of my time the past couple of weeks, but I plan to make some time to investigate this some time this week or the upcoming weekend.
Thanks for your patience!

In reply to: [Document Gallery] DG causes strange effects on siteHi Tom,
You’ll want to deactivate and likely uninstall Google Analyticator which is the plugin responsible for the stack trace and likely also for the missing customizer content. I’ve verified on a test site that all of the issues described are not present with DG.
If that doesn’t resolve the issue then we can investigate further.

In reply to: [Document Gallery] Open PDF in new windowHi Chris,
You can see a detailed description of this behavior here, but the short answer is that this behavior is browser-dependent and outside of DG’s control.
