In reply to: [Frisco for BuddyPress] bbPress and FriscoSounds like you haven’t mapped the forum pages correctly. If you have both group and sitewide forums activated then there is a bit of mucking around to get them working as they want to use the same /forums slugs.
It would be worth heading over to buddypress.org and re-reading the installation guide for forums. I got it working after the third go but that was in a test environment that I don’t have anymore so I can’t give you the specifics of what I did 🙁

In reply to: index.phpJust download wordpress again to your desktop, extract the archive and FTP the index.php file to your server.
Alternatively you can get it from the SVN repo. http://core.svn.wordpress.org/branches/3.4/

In reply to: Missing BlogsIf you’re getting the JustHost page it sounds like you’ve pointed the subdomains at your server but not correctly mapped them and/or created a wildcard subdomain.
In cpanel you should create a new subdomain called * and point the root directory to your wordpress install.

In reply to: Random Default Theme for Multi SitesMight be worth reading http://codex.wordpress.org/Super_Admin_Themes_SubPanel#Default_Theme
and changing the ‘real’ default to one of your random themes.

In reply to: Moving a single site out of Multisite to it's own host@mika I was talking about the backup buddy migration tool
(http://ithemes.com/codex/page/BackupBuddy_Multisite)are you talking about backup buddy or the standard wordpress export that Andrea suggested?
Sorry for the confusion.

In reply to: Moving a single site out of Multisite to it's own hostit pretty much takes the install you have and makes a standalone install for one particular site. It should bring across all the settings, plugins etc.
It would be worth heading over to their forum and asking them to confirm as it might depend on the themes and plugins you have installed.

In reply to: Multisite with monthly subscriptionsIt is certainly possible and has been done before.
Ron has a plugin suite that will take care of some of the lifting for you. I don’t know how much it is maintained.

Gravity forms (a paid plugin) will let you create new accounts and then send paypal reciepts.
There are some more paid resources at WPMUDEV Premium.

In reply to: Migrating Multisite? When you do the export of domain.com/ (the main site of the network) what does the resulting WXR file look like when you open it in a text editor?

In reply to: Moving a single site out of Multisite to it's own hostI have done this with the use of backupbuddy which is a paid plugin. It works as described on their website.
I won’t link to it as I don’t know the etiquette around linking to paid plugins.
Thanks Ron,
That did the trick.
For what it’s worth here is the code to save you navigating to the site.
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://centre.taleist.com.au.au.au/wp-content/themes/taleistbiznizz/style.css" media="screen" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" href="http://centre.taleist.com.au.au/wp-content/themes/biznizz/includes/prettyPhoto.css" /> <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RSS 2.0" href="http://centre.taleist.com.au/feed/" /> <link rel="pingback" href="http://centre.taleist.com.au/xmlrpc.php" />note the .au.au.au
birniescott,
The plugin works fine for me in a multisite setup, however it needs to be setup and activated by a super admin for each site.
Are you wanting to have multiple sites all subscribe to the same list or is each site, and it’s list, independent?

In reply to: Site URL changed to http://com/*sitename* on saveThanks Andrea_r.
I’ve posted in the alternate forum.
Not quite sure why this issue was marked as resolved.

In reply to: Site URL changed to http://com/*sitename* on saveI’m pretty sure I’m setting the correct domain name. I don’t actually enter ‘foo’ as the value. It’s just an example.
The site also works fine untilI make a change to the site options page. Eg. Enabling a theme on one site.
So to recap the issue is;
– I create a site
– I setup mapping with domain name eg. http://example.com
– Everything works great
– I go to Admin – sites and make some change, eg. enable a theme
– The site no longer works correctly
– The SITEURL and HOME values are reset to http://com/example
