First of all, we want to let you know that we take all the privacy related accusations very seriously and we are always taking action on them.

Now, we know Freemius has a bad reputation in such things, but lately they are really showing the exact opposite.

Just look a their latest SDK changes – https://freemius.com/blog/release-notes-user-focused-changes-wordpress-sdk-2-5-1/ – they fixed a lot of issues and improved the privacy, also they are open for feedback and they are listening.

And we, developers of Blocksy, are doing the same thing — we listen closely. If you go to our Facebook community page, you will see that a lot of concerns have been raised and all of them have been acted upon.

Also, please note that those very concerns that were raised by our users got fixed in the last version of the Freemius SDK — which we promptly updated to in our 1.8.58 version of the Pro plugin (as you can see from our changelogs).

Now, to make things absolutely clear for everyone — this is a forum for reviewing the free version of our plugin. And in the free version we don’t use Freemius at all, we removed it already for quite some time ago because we simply don’t need it in the free version.

We’d have appreciated if you’d contact us to discuss things before leaving such a bad and not true review.

But, nonetheless, it would mean a lot for us if you’d still want to give us a hand with understanding what issues you have exactly with Freemius.
Just saying “Privacy invasive” is not very helpful unfortunately and it’s hard to act upon. We’d love to hear them and please be sure that they will be addressed right away. Either by us directly, or by the Freemius team with whom we are constantly in touch.

Sorry, I somehow missed that message regarding the preferences panel.
But why you don’t simply enable the “Use theme styles” option?

We made this option to work like this because a lot of users asked.
If it is enabled – it will make the editor look like a normal page in frontend, from container width to colors and other styles…

Regarding the video, it was not containing any sensitive data, but ok, I removed it.

Also like I already mentioned, you are using the pro version so please submit a support ticket if you will have any other future questions and we will assist you for sure.

Let’s try this way:

1. You can make a staging environment and duplicate your site there.
2. Deactivate/remove all your plugins and scripts that are used to monetize the site.
3. Deactivate/remove all plugins that use sensitive data.
4. Make a backup of your site and upload it to Google Drive or Dropbox
5. Send us the link to download the file via email – hq@creativethemes.com

Will you be able to send us a backup this way?

This is a good solution but unfortunately we can not add it to the theme (at this moment) because it will break other uses cases.

But you can use it for sure as I can see your use case is very simple 🙂

Sorry but unfortunately we won’t be able to help you in other way.
This issue seems to happen only on your end and there should be something wrong with your setup…

By the way, can you please send us a link to your website/page where this issue is reproducing?

We are aware of this issue and will release an update soon.

This happened because of WP 6.1 and the theme.json file.

If you want, we can send you a link to a beta version that has this fixed so you could test it 🙂
