Mitchoyoshitaka,
I’ve discovered that if you turn off these options nothing comes up!Bill
Hi Mitchoyoshitaka,
Okay thanks, I’ll try it. Strangely, I have it running on my other site (same host but different box) and it seems to work without a problem.Bill
Ok, I’ve installed it in .htaccess, now what?

In reply to: RSS ProblemPS: When I ran a check on the feed it gave me 885 errors, all identical:
File ‘has tail blank lines’
When I ran the check it gave the following on all the errors:
Warning: copy(/home/creative/public_html/wp-admin/admin-header.php.bak) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/creative/public_html/wp-content/plugins/fix-rss-feed/fix-rss-feed.php on line 164
/home/creative/public_html/wp-admin/admin-header.php.bak can not be created, please check file permissionForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: RSS ProblemIt’s already installed. I think the problem is down to the fact that for security reasons my hosting co will not allow links to ‘unknown’ URLS, so they asked me to try and get hold of the URLS that are used for the feeds from Magpie.
I mailed Magpie to try and get hold of the addresses but after months of mailing them, joining their mailing list and getting no response, I gave up on Magpie.
This has been going for months now and is extremely frustrating as I used to have a number of rss feeds coming into the both my sites but had to drop them.
I really like WP but getting help on these (and other) issues seems to be impossible.

In reply to: How come I never get an answer about WP’s awful editor?Ok, I’ve inserted the code but what happens to the output?

In reply to: How come I never get an answer about WP’s awful editor?I think it has something to do when you have <div> tags and <span> tags in the same doc, something that’s not always under your control. It seems that WP (in it’s wisdom or is it Tinymce?) decides that you don’t really want a space between lines so it just knocks it out, the opposite of the original problem.
The WP editor works fine if it’s just text and few links, anything else seems to throw it for a loop. It’s frustrating and so basic to blogging that I can’t understand why it’s such a longstanding issue.

Yes, I have .htaccess installed, I’ll try it and let you know.
Thanks
Bill
Not sure where to leave this but it might as well be here.
When I first installed YARRP way back. it screwed a lot of things up even though when it worked, it worked the best. But I had to take out of service.
Then this new version came along so I installed it on two sites and had to take it down as it stopped all the posts and pages from being displayed.
Sidebar, worked fine.

In reply to: All my blog post content has disappearedOk, it’s the plugin YARRP (related content) that’s doing it.

In reply to: All my blog post content has disappearedI’ve got the same problem, all of a sudden all posts and pages have vanished unless I just visit the home page and don’t click on a ny links.

In reply to: Need a theme with no page links in the mastheadHi Esmi,
Yes, I found one called Greenie, tho it doesn’t blow me away (and all the comments in the code are in German) and every theme interacts differently with things like the plugins. Worse still, when I view the site (I’m on a G5 iMac, OS 10.5.8) using Firefox it displays one way and on Safari, another! In addition, even tho I clear the cache every time, old layouts still show. Very frustrating.http://williambowles.info/wordpress

In reply to: Can’t access AdminOkay, the 2nd option worked, altering the functions.php file but should I delete the code from wp-config.php now (I’ve deleted it from the functions.php)?

In reply to: Can’t access AdminHi Chris,
Very useful info even if adding the code to wp-config.php didn’t work.I get to the login page, enter name and pw and it just cycles back to the login prompt, no error msg. Tried changing the pw as well. I think try the php.admin approach now.

In reply to: How come I never get an answer about WP’s awful editor?I’ll try it but for me it creates another problem namely I need the </p><p>s when I copy some posts in source mode to another site, meaning I have to put the damn things back in!
