The thing with AMP is that it makes the pages really fast. I watched a lot of videos last year when I first heard about the AMP Project.
I participated in a study group with Google, about AMP pages. I was able to see how different an AMP page looked if I centered my illustrations, rather than having them right or left.
I personally like to indent things so that there’s a sort of outline on pages, so that information is clearer, but in AMP doing that squeezes things too much to the right, so I’ve had to go through my pages and take that kind of styling out.
If you choose a theme that is Responsive, then your mobile pages will show a lot more of the style you like, but your pages will not be as fast as AMP.
AMP stands for Accelerated Mobile Project. To accelerate pages they have to be stripped down.
You can choose the color for the navigation bar… 🙂

In reply to: [AMP for WP - Accelerated Mobile Pages] Meta description called twiceI’m not sure what you mean by calling the meta description twice, but I found that my pages in AMP had two images at the top, instead of one. My pages looked horrible, and my views fell off.
It turned out that I had a different image in the “featured image” thing than at the top of the actual page. As soon as I made the images be the same, the problem went away.
I’m slowly building up my page views again. (I had a court thing last month that occupied my mind to the exclusion of working on my site.)

In reply to: [AMP for WP - Accelerated Mobile Pages] 39 pages with Critical Issues today…If you browse directly to one of the AMP pages what do you get? I had a similar problem when mysteriously AMP pages got redirected to their canonical version.
If that’s your issue, after hours of attempts I fixed it by disabling the AMP plugins and Yoast SEO, then re-enabling the AMP plugins first and finally Yoast SEO.

You know, that could be it. My hosting techs did some things to my site, but I don’t know exactly what. After that my AMP pages had Critical Errors. I tried everything I could think of. I thought about disabling my AMP plugins, but I was afraid that would weird out my pages even more. I don’t use Yoast. When I looked at it a long time ago there hadn’t been any updates for years… LOL. So I went with All in One SEO, which is very good.Thank you for your insight. I appreciate it. 🙂

Where do you see the date things? I don’t have service for my mobile phone right now because I have to pay a lawyer to defend me, my home and garden from Wells Fargo’s fraudulent foreclosure. (WF file the Complaint but didn’t serve me, then when I didn’t answer, because I didn’t know about it, Wells Fargo reported my home foreclosed and sent a contractor over to drill into the locks to secure my home for Wells Fargo and it’s top shareholder, Warren Buffett.) Makes me so angry.
Are you saying that update dates don’t display?

Removing that plugin didn’t help. There are even more invalid pages today…Please will you look into this for me?

Sadly, it doesn’t appear to have worked. I tested one of the pages. It came back “Not a Valid AMP page.”
I don’t know what could be causing this…
